Situated on the beautiful, peaceful island of Hrísey in the middle of Eyjaförður. The house sits on the water's edge with stunning views of the fjord and mountains where you can sometimes watch the whales and dolphins. PLEASE NOTICE: The island is located in the northern part of Iceland. It is a five-hour drive from Reykjavik. And you need to take a ferry to get there. No cars, pedestrians only. The ferry departs from the fishing port of Árskógssandur every two hours and only takes 15 mins.

The inside of the house is bright, because of the big windows and light colors inside. The house is located a 20 minutes drive from both Akureyri and Dalvík - two larger cities. Registered number:- HG-00020047. The cabin is 15 m2 and is a hidden nugget in our garden overlooking the fjord opposite Akureyri. The cabin was completed in April 2020. There is a kitchenette with a kettle, microwave and fridge. The WC is separate inside with a hand basin. The cabin is private and there is a half wrap around deck to enjoy the evening views and midnight skies. There is an outside shower with hot water for a natural experience.

Very nice place to stay and comfortable. Our only complaint was that the blinds and curtains still let in a lot of light during the midnight sun which made it difficult to sleep for those of us not used to the midnight sun. Other than that, it was fantastic!

Absolutely wonderful place. Exactly as described. Breathtaking views. Well equiped. Amazing deck from which to watch the fjord and a stunning sunrise. The hot tub was easy to use and a great asset to the property. Lovely walks nearby. Take the binoculars with you and if you spot a whale watching boat do pay attention to them, we saw whales from the island. 10min walk into the village. The Nespresso coffee machine was a lovely surprise (including a lot of capsules) Was hoping for a peaceful relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. Hope to come back again.

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in der Unterkunft von Borghildur. Das Tiny House sah genauso aus, wie wir es uns anhand der Bilder vorgestellt hatten. Die Küche war mit dem nötigstem ausgestattet. Einfache Mahlzeiten können gut zubereitet werden. Als kleines Willkommensgeschenk gab es frische Eier und selbstgemachte Marmelade. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und man hat einen tollen Ausblick. In ca. 10 Minuten ist man in Akureyri. Borghildur ist eine sehr nette Gastgeberin. Leider hat während unserem Aufenthalt das WiFi nicht funktioniert. In der Unterkunft war es für uns sehr kühl, obwohl die Heizung auf maximal stand. Tipp: Wir hatten leider sehr schlechtes Wetter und haben das Schwimmbad Þelamerkur sundlaug besucht. Außerdem können wir das Kaffihús Bakkabræðra in Dalvik empfehlen.
