Holiday rentals with lake access in Alger County

The absolute perfect place for a little family getaway. Loved all the beach front there was, it was so fun walking our dogs down to the water.

We enjoyed our stay at John's home. The location is centrally located and close to many beautiful hikes. Clean and cozy home. Prompt communication. Highly recommend.

We have waited for this house to come available for almost 30 years and it did not disappoint!!! Sarah and Bob are amazing to work with and the house is a hidden gem deep in the woods. The house has everything you need for a long stay. The Wi-Fi is high speed and the smart Tv is easy to work with. The views are picturesque and endless. It is close to a ton of riding trails and the thunderbowl. There is 35 lakes within 20 miles of this house and the best fishing river for browns and brook trout just down the road a mile. This is a must stay for the area!!!

We enjoyed our time in the north woods. Beautiful views from the decks. The house was well kept, very comfortable accommodations, and well stocked with pots/pans/utensils, as we prepared all our own meals. Did not use grill, but propane was available. Wifi met everyone's needs. Would stay again.

We had a great stay in AuTrain on our last night the water went out but they brought us over water for toilets and took care of us regardless. Enjoyed our stay!

Great place in a great spot.

We really enjoyed staying at Ashley’s place. The backyard was the best part. My family of 8 and I loved the fire pit, the dock to fish on, and the hot tub! We played cards on the table on the deck and used the grill to grill out.

The unit was big and clean and was nice to relax in. The cafe below has great food and is quite entertaining, and the people are all so friendly. It is the perfect home base for UP adventures!

We had an amazing visit at Rich’s place. It was perfect for our first time in the upper peninsula of MI. The location was perfect for all that we wanted to do. It was great being so close to beach, Munising, Pictured Rock National Lakeshore and amazing views of Lake Superior. After a long day exploring in the cool weather it was great coming back to a warm place that had a nice fireplace going. We definitely have a lot more to still explore and hope to be back! Highly recommend this great, convenient and comfortable spot!

This was a cute & comfortable space for our weekend trip to see ice formations, and we appreciated being able to walk downstairs to the cafe, or across the street to Eh Burger. There’s also a dollar store next door. Prompt & friendly communication!

We had a comfortable two night stay in this spacious apartment at the Beach Inn Motel. Everything was clean and bright and the host offered that we could partake in the continental breakfast and enjoy the grounds right on the Munising Bay. There was a little bit of pass through noise from the lobby below but it didn't bother us. A great place to land during our trip to the UP!

My family and I stayed for a few nights while exploring pictured rocks and this was an absolute perfect stay. Anything you could need/want to feel right at home (even with children) and stay entertained while relaxing was here. We also got great advice on what and how to sightsee efficiently from Ken. The apartment was very private and quiet and more than plenty of room for our family of 5. Upon arrival we were greeted and given any info we needed for our stay and walked into a very clean and well stocked apartment. Will definitely stay here again!

It was a magical weekend away with my sisters. You couldn’t see/appreciate the water from the cottage, but just a few steps away across the street was the most beautiful and fairly vacant/private beach! Wonderful morning meditations, walks, picnics, and sunsets on Lake Superior! Munising (with some short walks to view a beautiful waterfall and some of pictured rocks) is just a short drive away, and Marquette too, is a cool city to explore in the opposite direction. The cottage was clean, neat and cozy and had everything we needed. The owners were responsive and kind. Thank you for hosting a great weekend!

We had a great time!! The view from the deck was beautiful, sitting by the fire at night under the stars was amazing! Definitely bring your bug spray, but otherwise it was great! We also really appreciated the accessibility of the home, despite the two small steps to enter the home, my mom had no difficulty getting around the home or using the bathroom/shower! We would definitely stay again 😊

The house worked perfectly for our snowmobile group of 4 couples! Very spacious- plenty of room to hang out all together, and the lower level living room was a nice bonus. The huge mudroom was perfect for all our gear and easily accessible from the driveway where we parked our snowmobiles overnight. Plenty of parking too- all 4 trucks and trailers fit nicely. The house itself is very nice and clean, and the winter view of the lake is beautiful! Convenient location 1/2 mile from general store with gas, and very close to the trails. Highly recommend and hope to be back someday!

It was a very peaceful place to stay and relax. We really enjoyed kayaking and fishing on the lake.

Stunning views! While there are a few other houses close by we had the beach to ourselves for as far as we could see. We could hear a little traffic from the front of the house but the back was quiet and peaceful. The house has a great floor plan for multiple families to have their own space and a big beautiful great room to spend time together. Everything was clean. We had lots of towels for our big group. Amazing video library and games for rainy days. Depending on the time of year you come, make sure to bring bug spray so you can enjoy the deck. June is prime time for misquotes in the UP.

Getting there was tough we didn’t have the actual address to the house and one address I had took us to the other side of the lake on two different gps units so that was a little trying it was late and no service to contact anyone. Finally we got just enough service to get ahold of the owners and they walked us to the cabin. The stay was definitely worth the little bit of trouble we had finding it. Its a very beautiful location and if you are looking for peace and quiet you’ve come to the right spot.

We can’t recommend Nicholas’s place highly enough! Other than bugs—which are just part of the UP experience—everything was FANTASTIC! (And they had a can of complimentary Deep Woods Off, for which we cannot thank them enough.) We spent time in kayaks every day, enjoyed the complimentary treats, slept well in the comfy beds, and wished we managed to keep our own home so spotless! The house is very convenient to Pictured Rocks, Kitch-iti-Kipi, and other attractions as well.
