Johanna's place is a real oasis. There were many things that made it feel so: sleeping so close to the river, being able to wake up and walk down to the water, cooking in the open kitchen with a view, finding stillness in the garden so easily, practicing movement in the open shala while enjoying all the shades of green, the singing birds, the howling monkeys... Johanna was helpful and responsive in preparation of and during my stay. Her recommendations were spot on. I was also able to take a yoga class with her and other locals, which was really nice. The location is really good too: isolated enough from the busyness, but close to Guadalajara, Nuevo Arenal and Tilaran. This place is a hidden gem, I cannot believe how lucky I was to stumble upon it here. If you're doubting whether to book a stay here, just do it.

A hidden gem between trees and affection We had an unforgettable weekend in this corner of peace in Panama. From the first moment, Fernando and Mariel welcomed us as if we were old friends. Their warmth, their life stories, and the love with which they have built this space are felt in every corner of the place. The nearby river, the song of the birds and the tranquility of the environment make this place a true refuge from the daily noise. But what really makes this experience special is the energy that they have sown over the years: a mixture of hospitality, simplicity and soul. More than a home, it's a human experience. We were recharged, smiling, and full heart. Thank you so much Fernando and Mariel. This will not be our last meeting.

I had already gone to the chalet in 2017, I loved it. I went again this year (2025) and it's even better. The host is super proactive and easy to communicate with. The chalet is extremely clean and well arranged. It was worth it. I hope to be able to come back again.

Absolutely incredible house in the cloud forest of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Amazing architecture with breathtaking views of Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea. If you are looking for a private secluded spot to check out and really enjoy natural surroundings this is definitely the place to go. Short drive to the awesome mountain town of Minca with lots of hiking..great restaurants..and laid back vibe. Esteban was onsite to greet us and overly accommodating. Incredible guy who was there to assist in any way possible. One recommendation..if you are renting a vehicle ensure you have a 4X4 for the last mile up the mountain road to his house. I was able to make it with a smaller suv but have experience in driving those types of conditions so not recommended. You can also park at the base and get a ride up if you prefer. Highly recommend booking this place and will go back!!!

It was a wonderful holiday trip! I loved the accommodation, all the bedding and towels were very well cared for and smelling. Clara and her Father, they were our support there, they welcomed us with great sympathy and kindness, helping us whatever we needed. The contact with nature, the experience of lighting a fireplace and staying with my family talking were unforgettable, it is a place to relax, to relax and to connect with nature and to yourself.

Excellent view and a place with a lot of tranquility and peace

An exceptional place to disconnect, the view is spectacular, the tranquility and air you breathe are totally worth it. Memo was attentive the whole time, always ready with his team to provide us with the best service. It is important to indicate to Memo the conditions of the people to attend as the climb to the Eco Hotel is quite inclined through the mountain and additionally it should be noted that if they are done plans in the reservoir should always be climbed and lowered; In our case we just choose a short plan in the reservoir and the rest we enjoyed it at the cabin.

Wonderful place. The room is comfortable and spacious, the view is beautiful. The place is absolutely quiet, for resting. The food was delicious. David was very kind and in general was always attentive and willing to help us. Highly recommended :)

Cindy and her husband José Mario are amazing, as was their Airbnb. It is a super comforting place and full of peace, super private, clean, tidy and surrounded by nature, cold weather and full of energy recharge. Cindy and Don José Mario's service was incredible, excellent hosts, very nice people, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, I would return as often as possible!

Cara's ecolodge is an amazing place to stay. You are immersed in nature and it's incredibly peaceful there. The waterfall and the river on the property are a huge plus and we enjoyed them both very much. The caretakers and Cara are super friendly and Doña Luz's food down the street was delicious. We wished we could have eaten her meals everyday of the trip! Couldn't recommend this place more!

Marine’s place deserves more than just five stars—it’s truly exceptional. We’re so grateful to have discovered this hidden gem. Don’t hesitate, just book it—it’s more than a stay, it’s an experience. The entire place feels like a retreat, and we were genuinely sad we only stayed one night. We instantly fell in love and are already planning to return! There are so many thoughtful amenities—from a private sauna and cold plunge to a hanging bridge that leads to open treehouses. Our room was beautifully unique and perfectly designed, facing the forest where we even got to see monkeys in the morning. Marine was incredibly kind and helpful, recommending great local restaurants. Ordering in was the best decision, especially with the rain—it allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our stay while savoring delicious food. Katana is a must-try; it’s one of the best spots we’ve experienced. Overall, this place exceeded all expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

The cabin is very comfortable and is very well insulated so it stays super warm. In addition to being very well distributed. The environment is super quiet and perfect for resting. Super friendly to go without a car, Felipe, the host, picked us up in town the first day and took us to the cabin, showing us the whole way. He also offered to transfer us one day when he had time to do it and was a super good tour guide on the way to the Conguillo National Park, highly recommended. He provided us with firewood every day we were there to keep the cabin warm and was very concerned at all times that everything worked out well. We'll be back.

Our stay at Christian’s place was perfect. The location was out of the way making it peaceful and private. The views of the Pacific Ocean were very spectacular. The meals provided were the best we had on our 4 week stay in Chile. The bed was the closest to sleeping on a cloud. Christian was pleasant, attentive and willing to offer information. I highly recommend this house for at least 2 nights as it is an experience not found often .

Believe all of the 5-star reviews! Malekus Mountain Lodge is pure magic. We were a family of ten ranging in age from 75 to 11, and couldn’t have asked for a better base for our Costa Rican adventures. Each couple had their own room and bathroom which were very clean and comfortable, even without A/C. Fans were provided in every room and it cooled down considerably at nighttime. The communal space, living room and pool area are amazing, and the gardens, trails, bridges and ponds are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have the place all to ourselves and experience the hospitality of Roger and Rosie and their dog, Bruno. They were wonderful hosts, providing delicious breakfasts, insights into the flora and fauna, and recommendations for restaurants, activities and guides that truly felt authentic - we were usually the only North Americans around. Being conversational in Spanish is helpful. Rent a 4WD and be ready for adventure!

If we could give more than five stars we would!! This stay was one of the highlights of our trip! The place is absolutely gorgeous and Daniela and her parents are the most amazing people!! They are so good at communicating and making sure you are comfortable enjoying the stay! They made us a delicious dinner and breakfast. We also picked some fresh avocados and grenadillas from their farm. The views were stunning! It’s a great midway point between Cusco and Humantay Lake. Highly recommend!

Our stay in Upala was peaceful and full of beautiful surroundings! The cook, Dinia, was so welcoming and accommodating! The pool was clean and my kids favorite part! Probably could put a weather strip at the bottom of the sliding cabin doors to help keep bugs out but otherwise the cabin and sleeping hearing the rain on the metal roof each night was so memorable!

It was an incredible experience, the environment is wonderful, it recharges your energy, I was very well received, everything was calm, the contact with nature that the environment provides is wonderful, I recommend it to everyone!

It was such a unique experience! I loved being up in the air among the trees surrounded by nature! The staff was so helpful and attentive! Delivered everything to the treehouse at my request and were always accessible! It was such a great feeling to be surrounded by nature and at the same time have modern comforts! I got the best of both words! Although I did take advantage and disconnected for a while which was easy to do in the best way! I definitely will be returning and sharing this experience with a guest or two!

The house is amazing, and feel secure. It’s also close enough to the Terminal Terrestre of Calca, which makes our trip much easier. The room is tranquil that we had a good rest and the shower is amazing with stable hot water and water pressure. Italo has been helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Casa de Aida; the only drawback was the poor wifi signal in our room.

Overall, a fantastic getaway stay in the Amazon rainforest. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to bugs or critters though, but that’s to be expected anywhere when you’re staying in the rainforest. Jaime and his family were so welcoming, greeting us every time and setting us up with tours that met right at the doc below our bungalow. We even got to go on our adventures with other guests as well as other tourists, which added to the fun!! Family meals each time with the other guests, which was a great way to feel right at home. We also adored Miluska, a family member of Jaime’s, who was so sweet, cooked all of our meals, and would sit and chat with us. Exactly the kind of stay we were looking for in Puerto Maldonado!!

Boato hotel was AWESOME! I loved almost everything about it. A place I'd definitely come back. Close to Guatapé and to the places I wanted to visit. Totally recommended!
