The newly renovated American style barn house is discreetly nestled in the secluded tranquil grounds of Birdwood Park Estate, a small seventeen acre hobby farm bound by Balingup Brook on three sides and the Avenue of Honour on the fourth. Stunning views of the surrounding rolling hills and brook are complimented by the impressive oak trees. Despite the quiet rural ambience guests are only a very short stroll from the centre of the Balingup village.
“An unpretentious and hugely comfortable country stay! Mary and Nye are wonderful hosts, welcoming us with freshly made bread, fresh eggs in the fridge, and homemade jam. The cottage is an easy and pleasant walk into Balingup. Our double bed was 👌 perfectly comfortable, and the shower water was hot with good pressure. The potbelly stove threw out ample heat, enough to heat the whole cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Mary and Nye!”
Suits couple, solo adventurers, and business travelers. The views are fabulous from the full length windows. There are local walking trails and the Bibbluman Track. Escape the hustle and bustle. Breathe the fresh air and revel in the sound of nature. Birds abound, the native flora is always in bloom and you can take the time to remember what life is really about., its an easy walk to the town site of Balingup with cafes and shops.
“Frank and Marsha are lovely hosts, giving tips along the way of where to eat, wineries, etc. Shamrock in Greenbushes was an excellent option for dinner as local pub was closed. We cooked for ourselves on the other night and bringing some food maybe an idea given not much open at this time of the night. Quiet, back to nature spot, perfect for couples or singles. Relaxing place to stay with absolutely stunning, well maintained surrounds. Chalet open space with toilet/bathroom in a separate room within the same building. Very neat, tidy and well laid out. Thoroughly recommend the stay in this beautiful part of WA.”
Tegwans Nest, a spacious country home nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Balingup with stunning wood floors, open airy living areas, cosy log fire, expansive deck with breathtaking views, and a promise of rest and relaxation. Be it relaxing on the deck with a glass of red, soaking it all in, or helping yourself to the seasonal orchards, 'a chat' to the Alpacas and sheep, an onsite massage, or simply taking long bush walks in the nearby natural forests, there is plenty to do and see.
“Tegwans Nest offers a superb home that you have all to yourself, in beautiful eco-farm surrounds. The caretaker lives in a house 300m away, if you need anything, but self-check in and privacy are also given. The alpacas and sheep are there to say hullo to from a distance, or with the caretaker, feeding can be arranged for the little ones. The house itself is modern, fresh, well designed and positioned on the block so as to offer gorgeous views and a fresh flow of energy every day. Immaculate inside with a chef's kitchen, gorgoeus lounge, balcony furniture and super comfortable and luxurious beds. Sustainable, eco-farming values and socially responsible ethics are reflected in an inobtrusive but easily accessible recycling station in the expansive walk-in pantry. Chocolates, fresh flowers and quality linen are also welcome special touches, along with a thoughtfully convened selection of essential pantry items (including plunger coffee, tea, lentils, crushed himalayan salt and all the freshly grounded spices needed for a hearty meal). We were looking for a quiet time and privacy and the hosts were so generous in meeting us there. Be back for sure.”
