This lovely self-contained studio apartment is ideal for a solo traveller or couple who's looking to explore the beautiful Malmsbury-Kyneton area. I visited for genealogicial research and to get to know the area, and I wasn't disappointed. The accommodation is ideal for walking into the village, and for walks to iconic local places such as the Malmsbury Common, Viaduct, Reservoir and Botanic Gardens. Autumn colours are resplendent in May and it was an enjoyable visit. The room is modern, clean, warm and comfortable with all necessary amenities. Neroli and Lance assure privacy and provide supplies for a wholesome breakfast. Fairies magically appear after breakfast to take away the tray with dishes, and return it later with fresh supplies.

One of the best Airbnb places we have stayed. Malcolm and Marina were so warm and welcoming. From the transport to the accommodation, the fresh bread on arrival, to allowing us to feed the horses apples, we could not fault their hospitality. Communication with Malcolm was easy and fast, and he provided excellent local recommendations for food. The Airbnb was cosy, clean and secluded with ultimate privacy. We had a wonderful weekend and can’t thank them enough.

Staying at Rachel’s place was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The space was spotless, beautifully styled, and filled with thoughtful touches that showed how much care Rachel puts into hosting. Every detail was perfect – from the soft linens and well-stocked kitchen to the welcoming note and local recommendations. Rachel was incredibly responsive, kind, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay special. You can tell she truly cares about her guests' experience. Jennifer and Will were the perfect hosts. The barn and gardens are delightful and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Was a beautiful stay in the valleys and we were able to see groups of kangaroos moving their way across the hills during breakfast and dinner time. The views were stunning and the hosts were very responsive. Only thing was the toilet, we could smell it during the night when we had the door closed. But other than that, it was a lovely getaway.

The Barn is a beautiful space, and Jordan has a great eye for styling (to be expected when it's what she does for a living!). The barn had everything we needed, the bed was probably the comfiest i've ever slept in, the kitchen, bathroom and furnishings were nice and clean, Bobby (the resident Golden Retriever) was the absolute sweetest! It's only a short drive from Kyneton's main streets and was the perfect location for us to both base ourselves for some day trips exploring, but also to spend a lazy afternoon and evening on the couch in the most cozy and enjoyable space. If we ever have a reason to return to the area, I would 100% stay again! With a wood heater and 2 reverse cycle units, it was also very easy to keep warm!

Lovely quiet place surrounded by beautiful nature and rolling hills. The interior is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. I loved the fireplace and the timeless furniture! The only thing that could improve would be that the shower pressure was quite low, and the hot water ran out very quickly! All in all though it was a fantastic stay!

A rare gem—pure bliss by the lake! We stayed one night at Cottage by the Lake, but it felt like a world away from everything. Just 5 minutes from Hanging Rock, this stunning waterfront property features two tranquil lakes, complete with a rowboat and kayaks that guests are free to enjoy. The cottage itself is warm, inviting, and beautifully appointed with a wood fireplace (firewood generously supplied). The upper-level attic bedroom is spacious and cosy, while the well-stocked kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Hosts Ann and Kevin were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’d be remiss not to mention Jock, the sweetest dog who welcomed us on arrival and came by for regular visits. He loves pats and hugs and truly made us feel at home. This place is a nature lover’s paradise—kangaroos all around, stunning views, and absolute peace. A rare find we won’t forget. Wish we stayed longer. We will be back for a longer visit next time!
