Koko guesthouse is absolutely fantastic! Sam is a great host with a wide knowledge of things to do in the local area & beyond. Had the privilege to try lots of delicious local cuisine. Beach, shops and bars are all within reach via walking or short drive. Thanks Sam for being a wonderful and friendly host, made my time in Gambia truly memorable. 10/10 🇬🇲♥️🙏🏼🇬🇲♥️🙏🏼

Die Unterkunft zu finden schien zunächst schwierig, da der Fahrer es gewohnt war, eine mündliche Weg Beschreibung zu bekommen. Es gibt keine Straßennamen! Und!: Ich hatte mit meiner dtsch Simcard keinen Empfang. Birgit hat auf meine Nachricht über das Handy vom Fahrer - wie immer - schnell reagiert… und erklärte dem Fahrer den Weg. So ging es perfekt! Sehr schön ruhig gelegen! Ich fühlte mich sicher!! Frühstück sehr liebevoll und abwechslungsreich! Auf dem Balkon mit etwas Einblick in das nachbarschaftliche Wohnen. Mein Zimmer war sehr geräumig, alles bestens! Schon vor meiner Ankunft regelmäßig Kontakt! Birgit spürt sofort, was man braucht: Ob Ruhe oder das Gegenteil, Infos und schnelle Alternativen, falks etwas nicht geht, Infis über das gambische Leben,….Verhaltensregeln, die gut funktionieren,…. Man ist bei Birgit und Amadou super aufgehoben!!!

Voor wie de Gambiaanse cultuur niet kent valt het wellicht, bij de eerste kennismaking, wat tegen. De verwachtingen van Europeanen liggen anders .Er is geen stromend water en nog geen elektriciteit.Een tafel gebruiken ze niet.Stoelen zijn schaars. Het is even aanpassen. Maar…het loont voorwie openstaat voor het leren kennen van een andere cultuur. De mensen zijn zeer hartelijk maar beseffen uiteraard niet hoe wij leven. Water haal je uit de waterput. Breng zeker mee: toiletpapier, muskietennet,een legerbekkentje om je te wassen,handdoek en spiegeltje en zaklampen, bestek indien nodig. Een kussen kan handig zijn.Wat kan je nog gebruiken :Wasknijpers, en zeep en een katoenen slaapzak.Het eten was zeer lekker. Het avondeten wordt soms opgediend in het donker. Een vast etensuur is moeilijk vast te leggen. Wat we als extra kregen,Iedere avond kampvuur,daarnaast eens tamtam initiative met gezang ,coconootpluk, oesterpluk.Ik mocht met hen wassen,koken en in de tuin werken

I wish more were like you. So responsible and caring for your place and how it's presented. I just got settled in back home so my review is a little late but I believe this is a great place and very nice location. Rakey is serious about making sure you're satisfied. She is so accommodating. We were disappointed about the pool, at first but then it ended up not being a big deal. I would definitely stay again and I wished I could have stayed there longer. The place is clean, well stocked with everything you need, although there's no AC ceiling fans kept us comfortable I believe AC may be installed in future. Oh and the neighbors are so pleasant and helpful too. It's a super place to be

Fatou is a caring host, even getting up at 6am to check that our tour guide for the day seemed reliable. Her place was very clean, with great coffee, a nice courtyard and a fridge and fan in the room. The shower could have been a bit warmer but the room was good value for money. Fatou and her driver collected us from the bus station and she also offered to make other arrangements for us. It was easy to take a tuktuk or taxi from the end of Fatou's street to the big hotels and restaurants, or to walk during daylight hours. Overall, Fatou's place is a good base in Serrekunda, with a small shop and money exchange next door, and we enjoyed our stay.

This was a wonderful stay. The room was amazing. The doors opened up onto the beach so you really hear the ocean and see it from your bed. Lots of space in the room and lovely hot shower. Kembas the hosy was exeptional. He went above and beyond his duties. He organised all my trips and escorted me, along with his lovely taxi driver Osman. His team are spectacular. Always making sure you are ok. They even built me a camp fire in the evening which was lovely. It is a bit breezy in the evning being so close to the coast so bring something warm with you. I felt totally safe and cared for as a solo traveller. These guys are really lovely. Kembas has such a good heart and he is so funny and entertaing too. You will love it.

Nous avons effectué un séjour mémorable dans l’appartement, la résidence est juste splendide avec l’accès à la piscine et la plage.L’appartement est exceptionnellement bien décoré et chic .il ne manquait rien du tout . Merci beaucoup pour cet accueil.

If you want really enjoy life in Gambia ,you are in right place.This isnt turistic area, it is real Gambia for Gambian people,but you can enjoy european comfort as running water ,electricity almost non stop and internet. Location in map ,which show AIRBNB is not correct ,house is 7 km from beach ,but for your pocket it is better becouse area is much cheaper that coastal turistic places.beach area -you can go by TUK TUK for plus minus 20 dallasi(0.3 euros). It is walking distance to bus station and exchange offices plus market.
