We alway like a place very central but quiet and the Pilot Berth was right nest door to cafe an exquisite food store and supermarket. However, the big Tesco was only 15 mins walk. There was parking right outside the door in the CO-OP car park

Great comfort in this recently upgraded period property, very personable host made us feel right at home, quiet area near all the sights, gorgeous white sandy beach 5 mins drive safe for swimming and not too cold, good wifi, gorgeous views and sunsets . The cottage is a prefect spot to stay in Sanday. Its spotlessly clean and well looked after. There's everything you'd need for staying, with a full kitchen, large bathroom, hairdryer and comfy bed. The view from the campsite is beautiful and you're spoilt for beaches in Sanday. Its lovely and relaxing, will definitely be back again (:

Exceptional cottage, super comfy and clean, no clutter. Great kitchen, laundry facilities, showers and bath excellent. Outdoor seats much enjoyed. The little information hut was an unexpected bonus, with fresh eggs and bakery goodies available. Greig was a delight, a a lovely Orkney man. Highly recommend.

North Walls Kirk

The Old Kirk was quite stunning - as soon as we unlocked and opened the door, we could see the charm and wonder of the whole place. It was superbly furnished and quite delightful, with so many interesting things dotted around... ...a real home from home and on quite a grand scale. Hoy is a charmingly remote and sometimes desolate place, but the Old Kirk was always a delight to come back to - so warm and cosy. We were particularly lucky that there was a folk music concert (Saltfishforty) on the Friday we were there, right next door in the Gable End Theatre - and we had two meals at Emily's, just up the road. A wonderful 4 days - Thanks, Inga.
