The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. You'll be staying on the Clare-Galway border with both the wildness of the Burren and Galway city at your doorstep.
