The building was originally a fully functional blue stone farm barn but since owning the property we have converted the space into an open plan house, complete with kitchen, bathroom, large living area and two mezzanine bedrooms. The outside remains in its original state while the inside has been decorated with a collection of artwork and objects from our travels overseas.

The Ballarat-Skipton Railtrail is just 300 metres away - perfect for quiet country walks and cyclists. It is comfortable inside and out with plenty of shady spots to sit in the garden.

Ann's Writer's Retreat was a gift from above. It was the perfect hideaway for me to work on my novel - quiet, peaceful, with a beautiful sunset to look forward to each night. I felt cosy and very safe. Ann made sure I was warm enough when the temperature dropped (classic Victorian winter!) and even encouraged me to hit my word count target by ever so kindly extending my stay. I can't recommend this trip enough for writers and artists.

Had a great stay. one of the most comfortable beds ever at an air b and b. best linen and pillows ever! the house was very charming and we had a roaring fire each night. very atmospheric! Sharon had left foliage and flowers and so many thoughtful touches. really special! there was even the most beautiful little carrot cake along with breakfast supplies. a very informative guest book too!
