I want to inherit this old private house that has been passed down for 100 years. With such a wish, we have renovated this old private house with the cooperation of local people, craftsmen, and children. We hope you to feel and enjoy the region of Japan through the stay. Kintsugi House: artisanal ceramic culture

Kintsugi House is a bright and cosy two-storey private ‘machiya’ townhouse in Tajimi, Gifu, renovated in the spirit of ‘kintsugi’ (making new beauty in repair). The Showa-period property uncovers the layers of Tajimi’s rich ceramic history and is decorated with ceramics from the Jomon period, to tea ceremony ceramics, and contemporary ceramic art. ここは今も人々の生活が根付いた、落ち着いた城下町。風情を感じて、昔の広々とした静かな古民家のお部屋で、忙しい日常を忘れましょう。 2023年5月公開の映画『銀河鉄道の父』のロケ地です。萬勝商店もその映画に出ています。「役所広司さん」の古本屋のシーンはこの宿で撮りました。 岩村城址へは歩いても車でも行けます。ぜひ足を運んで、ここでどんな戦いがあったのか思いを馳せてみてください。 他の観光地のようにたくさんの観光客がいないので、城下町の生活を独り占めできます。岩村ファンが継続して来てくださいます。 午後４時を過ぎるとしーんとした静けさに驚くことでしょう。夜の本通りを歩くと、ぼんぼりのような行灯が並び、とても幻想的です。 「夏至」の日に、夕日が通りの先にまっすぐ落ちていき、とても美しい風景を見ることができます。（天候にもよりますが、毎年６月の半ばの前後１週間程、18時半くらい） この建物内では、レトロ着物レンタルと着付けも運営しております。着物を着たい方はぜひご予約くださいね。宿泊のお客様は、割引料金になります。 建物の奥に、裏庭や蔵もあり、忍者気分にもなれるかも(^-^)

We’re about 25 minutes on foot from the station, in a quiet area with shops and restaurants nearby. Free parking is right in front. Many come to Nakatsugawa for the Nakasendo hike, but there’s beauty in quiet, everyday moments too.

Stay in a renovated 82㎡ Japanese wooden house near Tsumago-juku on the Nakasendo Trail, just 1 min from Nagiso Station. Ideal for hikers, it offers a bedroom, Wi-Fi, kitchen, theaterroom and bathroom. Walk 50 min (3km) to Tsumago-juku or hike 3 hours to Magome-juku. Enjoy Kiso River and mountain views. Near a bridge, park, supermarket (3 min), and convenience store (7 min). Notes: No smoking/pets. Train/car noise due to station proximity. Cold in winter, insects in summer.

This is a traditional Japanese house with a large entrance and white "Noren" curtains. You can rent the entire house out, and it's for up to four people per day. (There are two bedrooms.) There is a private outdoor sauna in the garden. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available, so you can use it for work space, etc. There is also a library of 5,000 books, and hammocks and personal chairs are also available. You can relax and enjoy reading your favorite books.
