A 130-year-old Japanese farmhouse, restored by the host, is now a private retreat. Traditional beams, tatami rooms, an irori hearth and wood stove offer an authentic yet comfortable stay. From the windows, the Central Alps and peaceful countryside unfold, and at night the sky glitters with stars. Try the fire-heated goemon bath, cook in the kitchen or over the hearth, and pick seasonal vegetables from the garden. A place to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply be.

As a mom of a 2-year-old, I designed it so families can relax: baby gates, raised outlets, baby monitors, and low beds on tatami or carpeted floors. 20 min to Magome-juku, 60 min to Nagoya.
