  • Beautiful space. The rooms and grounds were well cared for and the food was very good - I will definitely return!

  • All I ever hoped for was all I ever got when I stayed at Liyer's house. The food, the people and surrounding is great! Will definitely stay at Liyer's house again, should I come back to Bali.

  • Great, beautiful atmosphere, delicious breakfast is included and the front desk and staff helps with activities to do while you are there. It is about a 20 minute walk to town so I suggest renting a motorbike. Twice we tried renting a motorbike from Liyer house but there were no bikes available so don't count on there always being a bike available to rents. Rooms are not as advertised and the beds could Use an upgrade (ours squeaked whenever we laughed) we didn't have AC (we notified the front desk multiple times and they didn't fix it but provided us a fan instead) there was no mosquito net or hot water. If you stay in these rooms I also hope you aren't afraid of bugs, our room was infested with them one day but they came in and killed them and swept them up with a broom as soon as we notified them. Ubud is lovely and so is Liyer house, lovely breakfast, pool, friendly staff and atmosphere.

  • Unfortunately ended up staying here the night before the grand opening party. We expected a quiet and relaxed experience but it turned out to be very loud and we barely slept. The experience here is unique. Wouldn't recommend if you want to have privacy or not partake in any of the activities offered (spa etc.). Pool was basically an aesthetic feature more than an actual usable pool. Hard to find and a bit too far out of the centre. Weird holes into adjoining bathrooms so you can see into the other rooms. Bed was comfy. Can't get alcohol on site.

    Develyn March 2015
  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay (3 nights) at the Liyer House. Pros: The place was clean, stocked with shampoo, body wash and even toothbrushes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Air conditioning worked well and the mosquito net over the bed protected us from the many insects of Ubud. The breakfast was great, generous portions with four different options! Cons: They weren't accommodating, at all, with early check-in or late checkout. Music is playing all day near the pool area, it is the same song on repeat and I personally did not enjoy that. (But who knows others might.) Overall nice stay, would stay there again.

  • Beautiful location just outside of Ubud. We rented a motor bike from the staff here and I was incredible easy to get around. Breakfast was wonderful, the pool was gorgeous, and my husband and I both got 90 minute massages that were to die for. The only downside was the construction, which can't be helped and wasn't a bother very much- we just wish that we knew ahead of time. Lovely stay overall!

"Eat Pray Love" Liyer House Melati
$ 45 SGD
We have created this unique accommodation with an eye towards eco living crafted by local artisans. Tucked away down a foot path amongst the secluded magical rice fields of bali we are just a short walk to central Ubud but a world away.
This space has been carefully designed and crafted. Each element tells a story. If you look around you will find recycled and repurposed materials from all over Indonesia. The hand crafted spiral staircase is made of steal from the hull off a boat. The posts that hold up the ceiling once were the masts of ships that sailed around Kalimantan. The wood on the deck was formerly a bridge in borneo for two decades. The stunning chandelier in the living area is made of over 50 recycled wine bottles. Similarly the countertops are a terazzo of crushed recycled glass. We believe we have created a space that combines modern design with bohemian rustic styles and recycled elements. We have sourced the best local craftsman to incorporate all that is bali bringing the outdoors in letting you enjoy outdoor bali living in style. The room has two queen beds one upstairs in a loft space so is great for families or friends traveling together. We have a full staff that care for you while you are here. We have a full kitchen as well as a full menu. Lunch and dinner are communal affairs with a family style dinner every night of ethical food sourced from mostly local sustainable ingredients. This is an opportunity to enjoy the fireflies while you dine and get to know those around you. We are also happy to arrange a massage with our in house masseuse or help organize transportation or tours. We are here for you if you need us. Staff is on site at all times till around 10:00pm
We are just a short walk to central Ubud but couldn't be more secluded. This is the best of real bali. You will see farmers tending to the rice, you will see traditional ceremonies and hear the sound of the temple floating thru the night sky. We are down a foot path and lost from the city despite being just minutes away. You can walk to town in five minutes or we are happy to rent you a scooter or arrange a driver for longer excursions. Please know that this is not your average hotel. This is a unique experience that may not be for everyone. We have created a space that is at one with the outdoors. Our bathrooms are all open air and the living dining room is as well. Additionally you must hike in to reach us. This may not be your cup of tea. But if it is we think we offer something very unique that you will not find elsewhere. We offer a full service experience with all the amenities and all the adventure. We invite you to enjoy the unique experience of sleeping open in nature while you are here. This includes as some reviewers have noted hiking in on a traditional Balinese foot path in the rice fields. We provide flashlights to all our guests and always have someone to greet you at the road carry your luggage and escort you in regardless of when you arrive. We are located in the rice-fields and because of this you should expect to see lizards and dragonflys and other such bits of nature. This is part of the experience of staying here and we hope you enjoy it. Because of the proximity to rice-fields we have a very important member of our staff that ensures the villa is mice free. She is a cat. She works for her food and does a fantastic job. You would not be happy with the critters that were there with out her great assistance. She is sweet and friendly and will say hi. This said if you don't like cats or are not ready for all that nature entails, this is probably not the place for you. breakfast is included in your stay. it is Delicious vegetarian and different every day. If you are vegan or have other special dietary needs we are happy to accommodate your needs but as they are outside our daily routine we will ask that you pay an additional $3 per day for a custom meal.
  • It was a very nice and cozy homestay in a traditional rice storehouse on the water as my bedroom. Right next to the hut, their main house has kitchen/showerroom which I could freely use, and a dining space where I enjoyed yummy breakfast and chitchat with host and another guest. Host let me feel at home with privacy, while always being helpful when I need (e.g., arranging laundry service for me at very cheap cost/ transportation as well). Wifi was stable and fast enough. Location is just nice (not too far from the central area, and being very quiet in the middle of rice fields) with good local restaurants (Warung Mina, Mangga madu) nearby. From the main road, you need to walk (about 1 min?) through rice field path which turns completely dark in the night though host can always help you with a flashlight when you call her. Her stories about life in Bali were also intriguing and made me feel like getting land and house in Ubud! She has another bamboo cottage and is now building yet another tree house (!!). Very impressed by her creativity, and I will definitely come back to try others!

  • Extremely friendly, hospitable hosts. A unique experience in the beautiful rice fields.

  • Truly magical stay with a 5 star service and a stunning view over the rice fields. I arrived to ubud at 4am with nowhere to stay and I got a reply from Wayan right away and was able to check in shortly after so I almost got 2 nights for the price of one and even two delicious breakfasts. Great conversations and I got a great insight into the life and culture of Bali. Will definitely be my home each time I come back to ubud.

    Steve December 2014
  • my time at the traditional balinese lombong was welcoming, restful and calm. it's beautifully tucked away in the rice fields where it's peaceful and lush, and yet just a 7-10 minute walk away, you'll be in the hustle and bustle of culture that is ubud. super close to radiantly alive yoga, ganesha bookstore and bali buda cafe and market, this super cute place is the best of both worlds: conveniently close to the activities, yet blissfully apart from the noise. (if you don't want to bother with and/or are intimidated by the scooters, you CAN walk to the center.) enjoy breakfast and coffee in the sun, overlooking the green, in the elegant dining/lounging space, admire the beautiful ganesha statues, simply chill out and gaze at the stars. you have your private clean, basic room, a shared bathroom and access to the kitchen. for the price, it's an excellent deal! (if you're traveling during the new moon phase, a flashlight or torch is recommended for the trail.) the host offers great, practical advice and travel suggestions in bali, and there's a wonderful sincerity about the entire place. i would most definitely return!

  • This was a really nice little get-away from busy Ubud, but still only 10 mins walk to center town. You live right next to the ricefields and it's a lovely walk inbetween them. The locals are very sweet and don't mind that you look around. Wayan was super helpfull in finding my way around and giving good advise. I whish I had had a little more time to just relax here : )

    lise March 2014
  • Same as my last one. Just added a night because it was so great.

  • Very good host. Inner rice field traditional house, nice view. near Ubud centre by scooter. However Bed not so clean, towels were smelly but we ask for fresh ones . Mosquito tent quiet dirty. Room door need to be fixed, not really secure. Chickens crows from 4 am really loud, dog barking to us all the time. A fair place for Cheap price.

    Veekee March 2015
  • This was the best place we have stayed in Bali. The most beautiful setting in a quiet, rural area, just off from the main road. Really easy to get to, and an easy walk into central Ubud. The hut was perfect for what we wanted: basic, comfortable and clean, with a lovely feel. Beautiful built and maintained, and unlike anywhere else we have stayed. The kitchen and bathroom are conveniently located right next to the hut, which is the main bedroom. The staff here were outstanding. They were friendly, spoke great english, and really relaxed and accommodating. Wayan even helped us to move our stuff down the road where we were leaving, taking my self and my boyfriend and our bags individually. The breakfasts were outstanding. They had no problem with us using the kitchen to make our own food and do cooking (as breakfast is the meal provided by them). I can't believe the price!! Such an amazing opportunity for two young budget travellers. Underpriced, if anything. But don't change it, I want to come back!!

  • As soon as I arrived at the villa, Otila and Kirsty made me feel incredibly welcome. They gave me an excellent tour of the villa and explained everything brilliantly. The villa was beautiful! Wonderfully maintained and full of everything I needed to be able to live in Ubud. It gave me the oppurtunity to have friends round, entertain and cook which was marvellous and is something I could not do when staying in other accommodation. All the amenities were excellent! The whole villa was incredibly airy and full of natural light, the bedrooms and bathrooms were both a brilliant size with extremely comfortable beds and wonderful showers! The kitchen had everything in it to be able to feel like you were in your own home and the fact there was a washing machine was a bonus! The villa is in an excellent location, close enough to the centre of Ubud to be able to enjoy all it can offer and yet far away enough to be able o relax and take advantage of the peace and quiet of the rice fields. All the people, both local and not, who live near are extremely friendly too which was lovely. There are also a few fantastic organic cafes and restaurants situated within a short walk of the villa which is brilliant. The place also offered secured parking for motorbikes and scooters and space for the parking of a car on the road just stop the bottom of the path, something that is quite rare within an area so close o the centre of Ubud. Overall my stay was fantastic, the oppurtunities that it gave me to experience life in Ubud and entertain friends was priceless!

You'll walk a few minutes on paved footpaths to reach our Cool House. There's no car access here which creates a lovely green community feeling. Our villa is the only house in a small Balinese family compound, but still quiet and private. The villa is two-story, with air conditioning provided in the bedroom upstairs. Relax on the large balcony and enjoy a fresh breakfast each morning on our outdoor dining patio. A shared salt-water pool is located a 6 minute walk away at our other villas.
Airbnb has just selected us as one of 12 properties in the world, on their site, to be highlighted for our high standards. To enter the house you walk through a compound with a super friendly golden retriever, Milo. This makes the house very safe and provides a taste of Balinese compound life. The house is two-story and larger than most in Penestanan (120 m square; 1200 square ft). I am an architectural designer and have attended to many small details that make the space super comfortable for lounging. The downstairs is loft-like with (10ft/3+ meter high ceilings), an open kitchen and a natural outdoor stone and wood bathroom. Large sliding glass doors easily open the living space to the lush outdoors. The master bedroom is air-conditioned, spacious and connects to a large balcony with a 9ft. (3 meter) long daybed (very romantic). We have also recently added a shared salt water pool (located a 6 minute walk away at our other 2 villas) for the use of our guests. (Check the photos!) We can arrange for a driver to pick you up at the airport. We encourage you to take advantage of this service because our drivers – Ketut, Komang and Allo – know the way to our houses well and will carry your bags to the house. Other drivers will not. The cost for airport pick up and transport to the villa is approximately $350,000 IDR, which can be paid directly to the driver. Made and Made will make you a breakfast of fruit, yogurt and eggs (if desired). Jampi, my masseur, comes for $200,000 IDR per hour to the house or walk to the nearby Cantika or Lala Lili Spas. Fabulous world class fusion dining is within walking distance and the center of Ubud is about a 20 minute leisurely walk. Bring your laptop and access our high speed wifi. Enjoy! I'll leave you my list of my spots and favorite restaurants at the moment. I am putting together some sample itineraries for 3 day stays, 5 day stays and 7 day stays with side notes for designers, the sporty, yoguinis, the spiritually oriented. I know how confusing it can be to arrive and be faced with so many choices. After 10 years in Ubud and my design experience, I have narrowed down the choices to the best of the best. :) Allo or Made (another one) can take you there! We are also happy to organize a trip to healers in Ubud and the surrounding areas as well as to special ceremonies at the Water Temple for the Full Moon. And we have an excellent friend who can organize a juice fast or a healthy eating experience, complete with a raw cooking class. In fact, she can be hired to work up a private spa experience for you... complete with health rice paddy walks, private yoga... We provide our guests with the use of a Bali phone with Sri's number and mine, programmed into it. On the first morning, Sri our angel will come by to help orient you. I will be by once during your stay and can always be contacted by phone or email.
Penestanan now has an intimate yoga center, Intuitive Flow, just 4 rice paddies away. We have ten or so charming little healthy food restaurants: Yellow Flower (3 minute walk), Alchemy (4 minute walk), (Indonesian, Japanese, Vegetarian Organic/Raw, Indian, Two fabulous bakeries) within the equivalent of five blocks away. A Bintang supermarket is a 10 minute walk. In the morning wake up to the sounds of geckos, roosters, and cooing spotted turtle doves while taking in the view of 3 volcanoes. There are overpriced taxis to take you into town and back. ($5) Or you can rent a motor scooter... or hire a driver for a half day or full day. Walking is quite wonderful as well! If you have kids, there is a pond in the back and the staircase railing is open and not kid-proof (see photo #6)... but having said that, many families absolutely love staying at our house. It's Bali... imperfect and delightful .
  • We had a great stay at Alejandra's place: truly a cool house in a cool neighborhood. This was our first trip to Bali, and our first visit to Ubud. We felt very fortunate to stay in such a wonderful neighborhood (Penestanan/Campuan) right after our arrival. The location is far enough from the center of Ubud that it is more peaceful and laid back, but close enough that everything in Ubud is accessible. We used all forms of transportation while staying here: walking, biking, scooter and car. Biking is tough because of the hills. Walking into Ubud can be a bit tiring in the heat, but it's really not that far. Traveling by scooter is ideal. We didn't rent scooters, but Sri and Nyoman took us out for a spin one afternoon and that was great. Had we stayed longer, we would have rented scooters. Taxis are few, but there are some drivers on the main road to the south (near where Eve Spa and Alchemy are) that will take you places for reasonable fares - higher than a taxi, but not too pricey. Be aware that there is a huge Bintang supermarket just up the road from the Campuan steps. It's in the guidebooks, but we somehow missed it until the end of our trip. If you keep going north from the Bintang supermarket, you will reach Sanggingan, a posh area with lots of art galleries that is worth a stroll. Sri also took us over to see the other two places that Alejandra has (the two joglos, each facing the other), and those are lovely, too - open and close to nature in the rice paddies. The "cool house in cool neighborhood" isn't as special in terms of architecture, but we liked it a bit better for the privacy it allowed. It is a great perch from which to explore Ubud and enjoy life in a beautiful green corner of the world. We had a great time staying at Alejandra's place, and we would highly recommend it!

  • This is a fantastic house in a great location! I spent most of my time at the house catching up on sleep, reading, and just relaxing. Going to sleep while listening to the sounds of insects was very peaceful, as was waking up to a great view. (Plus it is a quick walk to town, restaurants, and a big grocery store. ) And one of the best parts of the stay was the breakfast, it was delicious, huge, and Nyoman was a fantastic host. I also highly recommend the short hike Nyoman can give through the area too (great for after breakfast). Internet worked great as I had to do a little work too.

  • This house should be called an oasis because that's exactly what it is! Beautiful, secluded and so comfortable. The beds are super comfy - yes I slept on all of them! The veranda is amazing - great space to read, do yoga, to nap - of course! and just chill out and watch the sunset. The light is truly special and you get your very own front row seat. Nyoman is the sweetest and he and Sri were so helpful and accommodating. My friend Rebekah stayed with me for the first week and she arranged trips and all sorts and Nyoman was very thoughtful and caring about her requirements. I was sick one day so I was grateful for the TV and DVDs! I was there for a yoga retreat so the house was just perfect for that. The family who live in the compound are lovely and their dog Milo is gorgeous. Loved to bring us a flip flop to greet us! :) Book it! Go and indulge in the slower pace, unwind, rejuvenate and relax...The house is made for that! Karen :)

  • We had a great stay at the cool house! it is spacy and looks like the pictures (except for the pool, which is located 10 min walking distance away from the house at their other house). We did't want the breakfast to be prepared but instead they got fresh fruit to us every day - very service minded and flexible (soo nice!!). When we had questions, it was easy to ask and we always got a prompt reply (such as renting moped, laundry etc). We loved our stay and would be happy to come back. One thing to know is that the house is located in a private area (great) BUT one person come inside the garden every morning and evening to place an offering (not too disturbing but good to know :)

    Emma May 2016
  • This place is dream. Tucked away from the crowd yet minutes away from great restaurants and many activities. The pool is a few minutes away and Jim was so nice to give us a tour and talk to us, giving us tips and options on what's around. Everything was one phone call away with Sri and Gusty ready to help.

    Bogdan February 2016
  • Before you arrive you are always wondering if your choice for staying in a guest house was the right one. Perhaps you should have played it safe and selected the higher priced house or stayed in a hotel? While packing your luggage along the winding path between old balinese houses and rice fields and looking for the turn to your new stay, with some beads of sweat rolling down your back and you're asking yourself did we really need all these extra clothes? Did we make a mistake? Finally reaching the house via a flowered courtyard and stepping inside to a cool breezy living room. Opening the doors upstairs and cooling down. You realize you have the perfect place and location to unwind and enjoy Ubud. Made and Made will make you a great breakfast and coffee to start your mornings. Both of them are a charm. Sri and Jim were very helpful making arrangements for our stay and transportation. We had a chance to explore the other houses offered by Alejandra and have our eyes set on "Jazmin - Villa 1" for our next visit to Ubud. We highly recommend this villa. Shane and Kadek

  • My friend Shayne and I just could not get enough of the cosy daybed on the balcony of this villa. It was so relaxing listening to the rain and taking a nap after exploring the town of Ubud. Alej was great and accommodating, we got lost walking to the pool and she was kind enough to come and get us. The cell phone provided was very handy. She also suggested we do a bike tour and that was definitely a highlight of our trip. Be prepared for some wildlife and the occasional creepy crawly but that's too be expected when you choose to stay off the beaten path. For sure worth it! What's more it's just around the corner from Intuitive Flow Yoga Studio, I would definitely recommend going to a class there! Cheers for making our first trip to Bali amazing!

  • I spent one month at Alejandra's Cool House. Both, the house and the location are fantastic. I felt very much at home at this beautiful place and loved every single day I stayed there. Alejandra is a wonderful host and she and her staff did everything to make my stay unforgettable.

  • We stayed 2 nights in the villa in Pejeng. It was very nice and relaxing, a peaceful place among frogs in the middle of the jungle. We enjoyed the awesome private pool as much as the originally decorated room. The owner Wayan gave us a lot of good advises about differents places to see and organized activities. Special thanks to our driver Ariek for bringing us across Ubud region and enlighten our stay with its communicative cheerfulness !

  • When we first entered the villa we were blown away. The pictures do not do it justice whatsoever! It was like a dream house. Perfectly situated in the jungle foliage, whilst also feeling very modern and well designed we couldn't believe our luck. Host's Jai and Wayan took perfect care of us and made us feel more than welcome, looking after us at every possible moment. We didn't even know the (absolutely delicious) breakfast or daily shuttle to the town (driven by the biggest sweetheart of a guy - Ariek) were included so we we're even happier! Unfortunately we decided to check out early because we wanted to spend our last days of our holiday nearer the beach but we were very sad to leave and could have stayed in the villa forever! I could not recommend it highly enough. Thanks so much Jai and Wayan! Hopefully see you again soon. Jac + Georgia x

  • Our stay at Mayoni Villas was beautiful. My partner and I unfortunately got a little ill from food in town but everyone looked after both of us well. The villa is stunning, looking out on to the serene jungle and pool. Ariek the driver was a tour extraordinaire and had great recommendations. We both highly recommend this villa!

  • Wow!! Mayoni Villa's are the real life Jungle Book! Wayan, Jai, and Arick were incredible hosts- they checked in and made our two night stay more than enjoyable. Arick is an amazing guide for Ubud, Wayan's food is delicious, and Jai's presence calming. We enjoyed meditation with Jai and an all day Ubud tour with Arick. The villa itself is out of a fairytale. Set back from the town of Ubud, this property is quite the oasis. The program that they have developed with the locals about clean farms and a clean lifestyle is unique to this country. They are smart, caring, and passionate. We will absolutely return to this absolutely magical place and will always think of Mayoni when we think of Bali.

  • Villa Mahayoni is stunningly beautiful, tranquil, and peaceful. Our stay was short but exceeded our expectations... Arjuna is a most welcoming and radiant host and Wayan and all of his team made us feel at home. Make sure to order the pancake for breakfast :) and cuddle the resident kitty Tori!! We wished we could stay longer... Hopefully next time!!! I will be recommending this incredible villa to all our friends traveling near Ubud. Thank you Thank you Thank you for having us (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

  • What an amazing gem. It was exactly what my boyfriend and i needed, a nice little hideaway surrounded with greens, sounds of the nature and amazing spirit the decompress. The outdoor bathroom is amazing, i had the best shower ever there. The shared pool is breathtaking; we shared the pool with another guest who stayed in the other room of the villa. It was totally fine, we got the pool for ourselves almost everytime we jumped in and we had the privacy we needed even though it is a shared compound (it's Ubud fellas; everyone is so zen!). Wayan, the owner, is such a lovely down to earth guy who helped us in every possible ways to ensure we had an amazing stay (he even got me some indomies when i was just self-mumbling wishing to have it, haha, top job Wayan!). Arjuna was a totes hands-on host with incredible soul. All in all, it was a fantastic stay. Thanks a lot guys!

  • Our stay at Arjunas and Wayans Villa Magayoni was amazing. The Villa itself Is amazing as you sleep right next to the jungle. You can also enjoy a bath in the Outdoor bath tub or a swim in the almost private pool. The furniture, Design and Space was really great. The breakfast Is very good too. You can choose between Five different options which Wayan cooks freshly for you. The location of the villa Is right in the middle of the rice fields with no Street name. With (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)Maps and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) we were nevertheless able to communicate our place to external tour guides, so we were able to go on the sunrise tour to Mt. Batung. There Is a free Shuttle to and from Ubud included once a day, so you get around very easily. Definitely recommended if you dont mind that City Centre Is not in Walking-distance.

  • Had a wonderful stay here amidst the jungle and rice fields... the room is even more impressive in real life and we can't recommend the place highly enough. Wayan and his staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, couldn't have asked for more. Hope to have the pleasure of visiting again some day!

Hey there unconventional travellers! Since we run many awesome places around Ubud and have often some spare rooms available, this is your chance to make a great holiday in 4/5 star estate for just a fraction of the real price!
Just have a look at the pictures, you could end up in any of these beautiful places :) We have rooms in the price range from 60-160$ and you will get always the best one available! Sounds to good to be true? Where's the catch? For real, there is not really one. The only thing you have to be OK with, is, to potentially move to another room during your stay (chances are very low for short term stayers). Start your day with a fresh and healthy breakfast, served by our friendly staff. Have a great time walking around and enjoying rice paddies, nearby Balinese temple and native jungle. We offer you many exceptional services as: - personal assistant and activity manager - city maps and best insider tips for Ubud and Bali - free WiFi - free driver for the Ubud area from 8am till 10pm We'll help you with planning exciting activities in and around Ubud, like spa treatments or yoga classes, volcano downhill cycling, Ayung river rafting, sunrise tracking, fun and yummy Indonesian cooking classes, beautiful hiking paths around Ubud,...
All of our Villas are in max 10 min range to Ubud centre. We can tell you the exact address a few days before your arrival, but it doesn't matter which one it will be, they are all great ;) We provide a free villa shuttle to and from Ubud down-town from 8am in the morning till 10pm in the evening. Otherwise the best way to come around is a scooter or bicycle, we can organize one for you for ~3-5 USD per day. If you are travelling with more than 2 persons a car is the best solution, rent a car cost from 15-25USD per day. If you would like to have a car with driver this cost ~60USD for a whole day... Because some Villas are located in the hills & forest of East / North -Ubud it is not always easy to find for outside drivers. Please let us manage your pick up from the airport or any other city on Bali. Just write us a message via AirBnB and we will surprise you with great service and discounted prices. If you decide to arrive on your own please call our front desk 0361982002 or 0361976522 for directions till 10pm. As written before this is a surprise listing with the chance to stay in one of our awesome villas. This means that the shown location is just round about where you will stay. But promised, it will you not taking longer than 5 to 10min to the city centre!
  • Stuff very is friendly. The Restaurant at the villa is good and prices are okey. All over very recommandable:)

  • Made was quite receptive before we booked and assured us that the "great villa roulette" would be great for our family (with a young toddler). However, after arriving at the Indigo Tree Hotel, it became readily apparent we had not booked a villa but a poorly constructed, small and open to the elements hotel room. This rooms airconditioner is rendered useless by large unmeshed openings and massive bay windows. As the room is on a rice paddy, there are literally bugs everywhere including bull ants and mosquitos; really not ideal with a toddler. We were moved to a slightly bigger room after mentioning these issues but still by no means a villa. This was also poorly constructed and maintained and next to the murky pool. We also found out we could have booked this and the first room for significantly less than we paid for the roulette. In fact, the first room isn't even advertised on the Indigo Tree website. Additionally, Made has failed to respond to any of my messages providing feedback about the experience which was very poor form. I should also note that the Indigo Tree is also 15 minutes drive from Ubud which would have been manageable if the restaurant had not been shut each night we were there and failed to open for lunch too. This was a pity as the breakfast was reasonbly tasty. They also ran out of beer on the first night and served no wine at all. The Indigo Tree is the only property that Made rents out through the "great villa roulette", contrary to the claim that he manages several properties around Ubud. There are literally hundreds of better places to stay much closer to Ubud with better rooms and facilities too for the same or less money; try these instead.

  • This resort was AMAZING! the surrounding are is full of rice fields and beautiful scenery that you can see right from your room. It included a spa, restaurant (with free breakfast and great food + tasty desserts), two pools, and lovely gardens surrounding the property. It was beautiful. The staff is very helpful and nice. The rooms have AC, wifi and they're clean and spacious. The resort offers free shuttles from Ubud Center and it was easy to travel back and forth. They also offer private tours where you can choose what Temples and attractions you'd like to see during the day. I would 100% recommend The Great Villa Roulette in Ubud. It was so relaxing to come back to a quiet resort with beautiful surroundings after exploring Ubud Market and a bunch of other tourist attractions.

  • To start off we can really recommend the great villa roulette. We ended up at a place called Indigo tree, the area had two swimming pools. Our villa was located with view over the rice fields and the bathroom had an open window so you could hear the animal life outside which was cosy. The staff was friendly and offered free transport to Ubud between 8am and 10pm. The breakfast was simple but tasted nice. They also helped us with a private driver to continue our journey.

  • Perfect place to stay, alltough it is not in the center of Ubud, but the hotel offers a free Shuttlebus which gets you there easily - or you rent a scooter like we did which is much more fun! :-) the apartment was beautiful and clean! Beautiful outlook over the ricefields. Good food, nice staff! We can definetely recommend this place!

  • One of the greatest villas I have ever stayed in - beautiful decor, nice stylish interior, clean - what do you expect more? Would absolutely recommend that villa to everybody who wants a relaxed and quiet environment to explore the sorroundings. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

  • I stayed in the Villa Roulette (Alke Villa) for my first few nights in Ubud. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed me around the city, and helped me figure out those first errands that make all the difference. Although a bit far from downtown, the drive is pleasant and not long. The location is peaceful and serene, though the nearby farm may wake you a bit earlier than you intend. All around a great stay, highly recommended!
