What you'll do

Start your adventure making your way through the glorious Kuring-gai National Park to Cottage Point (only 40 minutes from Sydney’s CBD) for morning tea on the sunny deck at Cottage Point Kiosk. Be welcomed aboard the stunning MV Kalinda, a rare and iconic 1950 timber Halvorsen for a serene river cruise on the Cowan River. We will show you aboriginal paintings visible only by boat and take you past the waterfall at Refuge Bay. Enjoy a glass of bubbles or stop for a refreshing swim on our Lilypad if the urge arises. At lunchtime we will drop you at the private wharf of the fine dining Cottage Point Inn for a sumptuous 2 course lunch. This quintessential Aussie experience will have locals wondering why they have never explored this piece of paradise before and visitors wanting to come back time and time again.

Myself (deckhand and host) and my father (skipper) have restored this classic 1950s iconic Halvorsen back to its former glory. We have grown up on Halvorsens on this area of the river and love nothing better than sharing this hidden piece of paradise with locals as well as travellers from far and wide.

Where you'll be

Built around 1918, Cottage point kiosk is a delightful step back in time first stop MV Kalinda, a 47 foot Halvorsen built in 1950 in Sydney. She has a colourful history after being transported to the USA as a live aboard boat then brought back to Australia in 2007 by your hosts for restoration. Ask us about the dice found in her bilges. Cottage Point Inn takes the fine dining experience to a new level right on the waters edge
