About your host, Gayatri And Yunaldi
Gayatri is the founder of Yayasan LINI. She is a pioneer in marine conservation and sustainable fisheries work in Indonesia, with a long history of working with various International and local organizations, and with the Indonesian government. Yunaldi aka Uda Yul, is one of the very few experienced Indonesian fisheries scientists, specializing in reef monitoring, fish identification and reef survey methodologies.
What we’ll do
First, you will learn about keeping and rearing tropical reef fish, and have the opportunity to help in preparing food and feeding the fish, including our clownfish and Blue Tangs, made famous in the “Nemo” and “Dory” cartoon films. Who can come
Guests ages 12 and up can attend.
Guests will need to arrange their own transportation. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and wet, and bring a change of clothes and a sun hat!
Where we’ll be
We will meet at the LATC. The place is situated on the coast in Les village, Buleleng District, north Bali. It is about one hour's drive east of Singaraja, and three hours from Denpasar airport in the south.
About Yayasan Alam Indonesia Lestari - LINI (The Indonesian Nature Foundation)
The LINI Aquaculture and Training Centre (LATC) is run by a small staff comprised of fisheries scientists, educators, and villagers from the Les community in north Bali, Indonesia. Our main aim is to raise the awareness of the local community about the marine resources they rely on, through practical conservation training.
This is a social impact experience 󶀁 where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Yayasan Alam Indonesia Lestari - LINI (The Indonesian Nature Foundation). .
