What you'll do
Have you ever been curious about what's actually under inside a beehive? Ever wondered what it feels like to be surrounded by thousands of busy bees from inside the safety of a bee-suit? Well, here's your chance. We are putting aside a limited number of dates throughout this summer where you can come out with us for a beekeeping experience like no other! The experience covers a full morning where you will get suited up, visit an apiary, get to have a good look through a beehive and learn loads of fascinating things about bees. We are careful to take our time so that you can take in the whole experience and ask all the questions you have. A generous morning tea and honey tasting is included and you can expect the experience to take about 3 hours all up. Whether you are thinking about taking up beekeeping or just curious about what it looks like inside a hive, book yourself or someone you love in for the experience of the summer. Dates are limited and each experience is limited to 8 people so don't miss out. If you would like to bring your kids along for the experience please check with us first. If you know or suspect that you are allergic to bees, this is unfortunately not the experience for you. Experiences are weather dependent because bees don’t like the rain!

Where you'll be
Our experiences are based on our family farm in Te Mata, about 20 minutes from the town of Raglan, and close to the famous Bridal Veil Falls. We have a small honey shop on site where we will enjoy morning tea and honey tasting together and a short walk away we will get into some of our hives.
Things to keep in mind
Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.
Up to 6 guests ages 5 and up can attend. Not suitable for anyone with a bee or honey allergy. Those with limited mobility need to contact us before booking.
While we take care to provide you with all of the safety equipment that we ourselves use when working with the bees, there is always a chance that you could get a bee sting while exploring inside the hive. Therefore this experience isn't suitable for very young children or people with allergies.
