What you'll do

We will meet at Plaza de Las Tres Culturas, located in Tlatelolco where one of the biggest and most important markets for the Mexicas once stood. There, I’ll tell you about the origins and importance of this ancient comercial centers. From there we will walk to La Lagunilla, a multicultural tianguis in the outskirts of Tepito. We’ll start the tour in the beautiful antics area, where we’ll find anything from clothes and furniture, to arts and collectibles. Going deeper we’ll walk through the food court, which by the way smells SO good, to make it to the best micheladas stand in La Lagunilla. Once we have one of those in hand, we’ll enjoy the music and the vibes of DEEP, TRUE MEXICO.

Luisa

Hi, I’m Luisa Del Bosque, I’ve lived in Tlatelolco for the last three years and I’m in love with neighborhood and it’s surroundings. I haven’t been to a supermarket in more than a year, I only shop at local markets and flea markets (tianguis). I’m very passionate about the tianguis; the culture, tradition and treasures I find in them inspired me to open, with my best friend, our own clothing shop called LA CHULERÍA AK, where we sell all the cute vintage, second hand clothes that we find. I’d love to share the culture and history behind this iconic Mexican markets while I guide through one of my favorites: el tianguis de La Lagunilla.
