What you'll do

This is an authentic Yucatecan experience. We'll visit 2 of our favorite cenotes and one hacienda (historical building) on this day of Mayan jungle adventure & probably (hopefully) we'll have them just to ourselves (depending on the season and the day) or at least we won't find a crowd in them. (Perfect for families, couples, groups of friends, and solo travelers). The first cenote is a cavern one, with sapphire blue water (not cold) from where we will appreciate to the bottom of it (it may vary in raining season). The second cenote is a perfectly shaped open circle with incredible emerald water surrounded by trees and birds.

We’ll tell you a few things about the mayan culture as you take in the impressive views of these hundreds of millions of year old rock formation while you swim, snorkel, explore, float, do high jumps from almost 32 ft! (just for the most adventurous) or just relax in each of these cold&fresh water cenotes taking pictures. We will stay from 45 mins to 1 hour (depending on you) in each cenote, without rushing (something typical in normal tours).

Finally, you will enjoy a regional artisanal organic firewood cooked meal and prepared by the Mayan community from the harvest to your plate (welcome to México!) for less than the cost of a beer in california!

Other highlights
-By booking this experience you support a Mayan community
-The experience includes a guided visit to an hacienda (historical building)

Where you'll be

We will visit 2 cenotes in this magic experience. Not the crowded ones and some of the best you'll ever visited, because of the small road there is no entrance for big tour buses.

I have personally hand-picked these because they are very representative of what cenotes are, not far from the city and also they are one of the most beautiful cenotes I have ever visited.

Our trip was wonderful! Host was so kind and accommodating with vast knowledge of the culture and areas we visited. Will plan another excursion with them before we leave!

Great local experience. Loved the lunch. If you are an animal lover, it’s kinda sad seeing all the local dogs in the village, you can really see they don’t get much food there. I would recommend this to trip to friends.

So much fun. Our guide Moses was the best. Swimming in the cenotes is a must. Lunch on the village at Nancy’s was so good. Amazing tour.

If you’re looking for a cenotes tour…I don’t think you need to look anywhere else. Moises was an amazing host. We took a private tour and it was an incredible value. Moises took us to absolutely gorgeous cenotes. He had a lot of knowledge about them, and shared great stories with us during the tour. The cenotes were unbelievable, and we were the only people there. We really got the impression that Moises worked hard to find the best locations, and that we wouldn’t have been able to find these spots on our own. Now the cherry on top was the meal that a local Mayan family prepared for us. We are vegans and they easily accommodated us. The food was amazing…fresh, delicious, and eating in someone’s home felt like a warm hug after all the restaurants and take out we’d been having while away. Moises also took us to a hacienda, and taught us about the history and story behind it. Overall this was an amazing tour - the best one we had on our trip. Highly recommend it. Thank you so much Moises!

We had a great day with Moises! The cenotes were magical and the home-cooked lunch was one of our favorite meals in the Yucatan. Moises is super knowledgeable, friendly and really went out of the way to make sure this was an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this tour and others from this duo!

Our visit to the Yucatán Peninsula would not be complete had it not been for this incredible cenote experience and the guys that hosted it. I reached out to Miguel Ángel about joining the tour following the passing of Hurricane Grace. After many cancellations on other experiences, Miguel accepted our request and his partner, Moises, picked us up bright and early from our AirBnb. We drove about an hour to the first cenote, a cavernous, hidden oasis in the outskirts of Mérida. When we arrived, the sapphire blue waters of this incredible place were calm and no one else was there. We were able to swim, snorkel and relax for over an hour, and the water was at a perfect temperature. We then made a short drive to the second cenote, this one completely open, but equally majestic. The waters were emerald green and it even had boards from which to jump from. I took the mid-sized plunge and lost my Apple watch in the process. I didn’t notice until we made it back to Mérida, and I let the guys know. A few days later, we learned that the watch was found by a few divers and Miguel Ángel went to their home, recovered the watch and shipped it to me in the US within a week. On top of all this, we are ended the experience with a delicious, authentic Mayan meal. Im beyond grateful for the experience and know I’ll be reaching out to these guys for more fun in the future.
