What you'll do
In this workshop you will make a hardcover Japanese Stab Bound Album. First you will choose the size of album that meets your needs. Then you will cut the pages and make the book block. Decorate your album with various colored book cloth, ribbon, and choose some decorative papers from my personal collection from around the world. No two albums are ever the same. As I will walk you through every step, using traditional tools and techniques, you will work at your own pace to complete your album. Leave Vermont with your own special hardbound book.
Welcome to Still Water Bindery. I apprenticed in a small hand book bindery in London, UK 40 years ago and have been binding books ever since. I have taught students from pre-school through graduate college level. I love to teach and share my passions! I enjoy working with students of all ages and experiences. It is exciting to see folks make something of beauty, that they made themselves. I love to have folks take home a unique handmade album for Vermont. Come make some art in my studio Still Water Bindery!

Where you'll be
We will use Still Water Bindery for your bookbinding workshop. This is located in the back yard, a short walk from the house where you will park. Please note that I usually stand at the work bench while making books, so we usually stand for the whole workshop. If you need to sit during this workshop, there is a stool or a chair for you to use.
