About your host, Arlette
#OneKindHouse is about the future built on past foundations. We live in exponential times and constantly need to adapt to it. We have to keep inventing and stay true to ourselves and Mother Nature.
What we’ll do
Come and be a part of the One Kind Family! Learn to grow your own crops using the latest urban farming technologies; forage for baby kedondong leaves to pound into a pesto; and pluck blue pea flowers to make a uniquely different tea and rice. Then we'll cook a three-course meal (being mindful of your diet and spice preference) using family recipes, and enjoy it together while sharing stories.
What I’ll provide
Traditional dishes with a twist, including fried fish/chicken with kedondong pesto and blue pea flower rice.
Herb teas from the garden
You'll receive a GIY (grow-it-yourself) stick, created and successfully Kickstarted by Calvin and Dylan.
Home-made Kaya jam
Dress light & comfortably. Preferably in shorts and t-shirt.
Where we’ll be
One Kind House is the only 21st Century kampung that's an urban farm, cooking school, incubator, art gallery, maker space, and community center all in one. Since 1969, the home spans four generations. We are located near the East Coast beachfront as well as up-and-coming Siglap & Katong.
