What you'll do

Come and be a part of the One Kind Family! Learn to grow your own crops using the latest urban farming technologies; forage for baby kedondong leaves to pound into a pesto; and pluck blue pea flowers to make a uniquely different tea and rice. Then we'll cook a three-course meal (being mindful of your diet and spice preference) using family recipes, and enjoy it together while sharing stories.
Other things to note
We require a minimum of 4 sign ups in order to run a cooking session. You will be notified by the host, at least 2-3 days in advance, in the case of insufficient sign ups. The host will advise on the next steps thereafter.

Mummy Soh is 76 years old and a champion of active elder aging, growing wholesome foods that nourish the body and soul, and cooking homegrown recipes. Fresh ingredients can create the most memorable meals—memories she loves sharing with people through #OneKindHouse.

We’re a family-run part urban farm, part cooking school, part collaborative workshop, where every visit conjures a 21st century “Kampung” experience. We live in rapidly changing times and constantly need to adapt to it, so #OneKindHouse is about building the future on past foundations and staying true to ourselves and Mother Nature.

Mummy Soh was an amazing host! Together with her helper, Velma, they make the cooking experience for my Mother's 60th birthday a fantastic one. My mum, sister and I enjoyed this cosy home-cooking experience so much, we might even come back again to learn to cook more dishes from them! Highly recommended for all who want an authentic cooking experience!

A cosy & warm ‘garden to table’ experience set in the midst of a beautiful home. The crops in the garden also inspired us to think about being self-sustainable!

The cooking lesson was excellent & the home garden so inspiring. It was wonderful to sit with three generations of the one family & hear their stories and share their aspirations over a fantastic home cooked meal.

Uniquely Singaporean. Loved that most of what we cooked was grown from their own garden, and shared with insight and expertise on the whole process. Entirely home-grown, if I might say, and had a great sense of authenticity behind it.
