About your host, Wai Lei
I can't live without coffee, and figured the best way to enjoy it for life is by operating a cozy cafe and sharing my passion with others. I love chatting with customers and friends over a good cuppa.
What we’ll do
We'll enjoy a traditional breakfast: local coffee with runny eggs and kaya-buttered toast. We'll order coffee at a hawker stall, speaking in the local lingo, then drop by a mini exhibit of nostalgic "…
What I’ll provide
Two or more coffees
MRT (subway) ride
There will be about 5-10 minutes of leisurely walking, 5 minutes subway train ride, and another 5-10 minutes of walking.
Use of commercial espresso machine
Kaya toast and runny eggs
Make your way to Chinatown MRT (Subway) Exit A. There will be short walks (5 - 10 minutes) and a short subway ride. Experience on Saturday may extend to 11.45am due to queue at hawker center.
Where we’ll be
Visit a bustling hawker center above one of the oldest wet markets in Singapore. Have coffee, eggs, and toast from my favorite stall, which serves coffee roasted and brewed the traditional way. We'll finish at my cafe in the heart of a business district, where you can brew your own coffee.
