What you'll do

Walk into the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh and discover his roots. Where and how did he grow ip? What was the influence of Zundert and surroundings on his later work, in North Brabant and later on in France? This tour will take you through a very special part of Vincent's birth town Zundert. You will visit a few unique spots and hear breathtaking story's. We will visit a presbytery of the Dutch reformed church. In the church Vincent van Gogh’s father performed his duties as a pastor for 22 years. Not to miss is the cemetery of the church, where his older brother was buried. We will kneel down at this very special location. We also pay attention to a world famous statue. It was sculptured by Ossip Zadkine and on 28 May 1964 it was unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. After the walk you will pay a visit at the Vincent van Gogh House, an art centre on the grounds of Vincent's birthplace. It is no classic museum, but an active experience where you will see an inspiring presentation about the life and the works of Vincent van Gogh.

Peter

My name is Peter Dictus (1 november 1959). I manage the Airbnb bookings in Van Gogh's birth town Zundert. I am also one of the local guides. I am a culture producer and a theater maker. I write texts, I create plays, produce art and culture, sing (my own) songs and I always have an idea. I have been working in the theater sector for over 35 years. In 1973, when I was 14 years old, I published a romanticized essay about the daily life of a young Vincent van Gogh. In 2003 I caused an uproar with a fake documentary. It became worldwide media news. I will reveal the whole story
