What you'll do

Join me on a stroll through the West End to discover just how Britain changed the world of wine. From the Knights' Templar to the Napoleonic wars with lashings of Claret and Port along the way (so long as you pass it correctly!) This 3.5 hour tour will stop by some of London's oldest wine caverns for regular refreshment along the route. In between stories of intrigue and scandal we will stop by several of London's oldest, working wine bars as I tell the story of how the other half drink... We will be stopping along the way at the more affordable drinking dens, as we discover just how and why a beer-loving nation- incapable of growing their own vines- became so obsessed with wine...

Freddie

When I decided to write my undergraduate thesis on the historical drinking dens of London, my mother was not best pleased... However, 6 years later, following jobs in tourism, lecturing and wine retail, I have launched a new and unique tour that educates, entertains and, most importantly, brings people together. Join me for an off-the-beaten-track experience that combines history and anecdotes in vino veritas in the most visited city in the world!
