Cooking Sicily

First of all we will find out what the gastronomic 'path' of the day will be; this will depend on the season and on what the market offers: to prepare our dishes, in fact, we will use only fresh, local and possibly organic products. Each member of the group will be following my directions and / or demonstrations to begin the preparation of the menu that will normally include: a main course - first or second course of vegetables and a dessert. We will make pasta and bread, as often as times and preparations allow. As we proceed with the preparation of our meal, we will take notes on ingredients, quantities and recipes so that when you return home and show your friends and relatives photos and memories of your travel experiences you can taste the traditional dishes again, you will have learned to prepare with your hands! When everything is ready, consume yourself or together with us, if you prefer, the product of your efforts and I assure you that nothing will give you more satisfaction: in no restaurant you will find a dish equal to ... yours! Last but not least, if you have children travelling with you, they also enjoy this experience: what's better then prepare by themselves their own lunch?! Other things to note Of course, if someone hasn't got cooking hobby he/she could stay with us and look; the menù I'll propose to you can be modify if you don't like or cannot eat something

Taste Etna Natural Wine in late Nineteenth century Palmento

Breathe in the atmosphere of a typical "ETNEO PALMENTO" from the end of the 19th century and try our NATURAL WINE produced with organic grapes and all the mineral wealth of the lava stone soil We will meet in the ANCIENT "PALMENTO", the building where more than 100 years ago the farmers brought the grapes to transform them into wine. A short tour of the rooms will introduce you to the "secrets" of this special lava stone construction, the ingenious engineering of the past and our choice for sustainable restoration. Depending on your preference, you can stop in the lounge or on the terrace to fill your glasses. The TASTING includes at least three different wines, but based on the seasons and the processing periods you can taste experiments and/or barrel tests. The wine tasting experience is accompanied by a SMALL CHOPPING BOARD with local olives, local cold cuts and cheeses and pleasantly by technical and less technical chats about wine, and about the Etna world which becomes a specific character in the glass. For us it is always a pleasure to tell about our dreams and how this land has welcomed us. A 3-hour walking tour around Catania's fish market and alleyways. During the walk, we will take you to our favorite street stalls and family-run deli shops to sample the best daily selection of local street food such as the Arancino, the Cipollina, some challenging samples, and much more :) We offer our foodies only seasonal and traditional foods, no touristy stuff! CATANIA BIKE TOUR & SICILIAN STREET-FOOD

Discount of of 30% for groups of 4/6 people and of 20% for groups of 2/3 people. Possibility to rent electric bikes and child-seats, ask me! We will ride by mountain bikes around the city center of Catania and other sea villages, visiting the most important monuments that history left us, as well as a taste of the best specialties that our street kitchen offers. The tour lasts 3 hours and it’s more or less 10 km (it’s easy even if you aren't expert bikers). Starting from the city center we visit the city, stopping in the most important squares and monuments, looking at iconic buildings such as churches and theaters and exploring the center riding in some hidden nice streets. W will stop to eat a mix of some typical food such as arancini, cipolline and other special sicilian products. Then, we go to the seafront zone for a typical fresh-fruit drink and we visit two old little areas with characteristic harbours where fishermen from Catania work and live. We will arrive to Ognina, the northern district of the city, where the cycling path close to the sea ends. The tour ends riding back to the meeting point.
