Mitsuka, authentic Japanese style guest house

RachelRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great stay at Mitsuka with Yukiko. Her home was warm and welcoming. The bedroom was especially nice with traditional tatami floors and futon beds, plus AC which we were very grateful for. Yukiko cooked us a delicious breakfast, and also gave recommendations for renting surfboards.

Rent a quiet house with a view of the sea and a bridge | A place that feels warm like a relative's home. Sauna is optional

ZhiyuRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The house was just several steps from the beach, and a gorgeous view of the bridge. Inside the house is a nicely furnished Japanese style home with all the amenities we needed, and the host was super nice and even offered us to buy drinks from convenience store in case we can’t drive.

I'm really sorry for the late comment. The place was a very stylish single-family house. There were a lot of rooms and it was very spacious. The owner was really kind, drove me to the station, and introduced me to the surrounding shops. When I was drinking at the izakaya, when I talked to the regulars and the owner, everyone knew it well and had a very good reputation. There were two dogs, which were very cute, and the cat was very cute!(By the way, I'm a cat person)

Very warmly received by Kazuko! Felt right at home. Stayed here for a night during a road trip and really loved it. Delicious food both in the evening and in the morning. And be able to talk nicely! It will be a nice memory of my road trip. If I ever get the chance, I'd love to come back!

A quiet and beautiful traditional Japanese house. The host was most amazing, kind and helpful. She picked me up from the station and gave me a ride back to there as well. Also had a good chat with her. Enjoyed my stay very much, thank you! 🙏 PS. In Susaki I tried a nabeyaki ramen restaurant ”Garo” and it was also absolutely delicious. Definitely try out nabeyaki ramen when visiting Susaki as it’s their local delicacy.

We enjoyed our time driving around Shikuko. Our Host very kindly let us rent his personal car for our duration of stay, at a very affordable rate. Our host picked us up from the train station and gave us a lift to the train on the day we checked out, which was very kind and helpful. Nankoku and Kochi are very quiet places but a good place to base yourself if you want to drive and explore the island as a whole. Shikuko is not very tourist but we prefer that kind of travel anyway, which is more authentic.
