Cottage holiday rentals in Glenelg

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

Eine außergewöhnliche Auszeit auf der Isle of Skye. Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft sofort wohlgefühlt, die Einrichtung ist total liebevoll, es war super sauber und der Ausblick einmalig. Es ist alles da was man braucht. Besonders heimelig war der elektrische Kamin und natürlich der Whirlpool, den wir gerne genutzt haben. David war für Rückfragen immer zu erreichen und ausgesprochen freundlich. In Summe einer der schönsten Aufenthalte, die wir in einem Airbnb je hatten :)

We loved our stay in the waterfall cottage! It was a perfect place for our newlywed destination to kick off our honeymoon. The view is stunning and we loved drinking our morning coffee in the back porch taking it all in. The inside is very cozy and we cooked many meals in the kitchen which was well appointed. There are other lodgings directly adjacent to the property but fortunately were all vacant otherwise it would have been less private than expected. This is listed as a detached cottage, but a wall is directly shared with a cottage next door technically making this a duplex. A bit misleading but all good since it was vacant for our stay. Nina was responsive to all our questions which we appreciated. We loved Loch Tay, the Crannog Center, and Aberfeldy nearby. While there are no direct signs to get to the lochside, there are paths down to the loch through the gate or nearby boathouse lodge entrance from the road to walk down to see the water.

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

Wow!! What a beautiful spot! Betty’s lookout was perfectly outfitted for our party of three and we enjoyed both the cabin, the hot tub, the wood burning stove and the views!!! We were so lucky to get the pleasure of the incredible food, service and ambience of Monkstadt 1745 for dinner while there. Making our bucket list trip to Scotland and Isle of Skye so very special. Thank you for an incredible experience.

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Words cannot do justice to this amazing property; it has to be experienced to be believed. Terrific view of the bay just steps out the back door, yet near the center of town. Extremely quiet. Spacious. Comfortable. Fantastic master bath and bedroom, with two tubs, two sinks, and a wonderful shower. An office for work or reading. Powder room and storage room. Good washer and dryer. A good kitchen and dining area. Comfortable sitting room with a telescope for viewing the bay and its ptarmigan inhabitants. Great tv and internet. Separate sauna building with a view of the bay. Amenities galore, including boots for walking on the beach, And the most thoughtful attention to details that you'll ever encounter. Also, the hosts are extremely generous. It's simply lovable.

The place was very quite and peaceful. The house was well maintained with all kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is private car parking enough for at least 2-3 cars. There is one queen bed in ground floor and 2 single beds on the another upper stairs bedroom. We loved it and highly recommended for those who need peacetime.

Tigh Darach is a beautiful home in a glorious location. A stunning wood-frame construction built with a wonderful eye for design, light and space. Everything was good quality, eco and in the best possible taste. Not only aesthetic but also extremely comfortable! A lovely family home that they are happy to share with us via Airbnb. We had a great experience staying with Chris and Susan, and would highly recommend this to anyone in the area - head and shoulders above hotels at a similar price point. We stayed for 3 nights, looking for a base between Fort William and Glencoe for hiking. The cottage is very well located for what we had planned and was a welcome break from the string of damp and dingy hotels that we had stayed in beforehand. The place is very well equipped, with a smart TV in case the weather takes a turn and everything you could need for home cooking and lunch prep (which was a huge bonus for our hikes). If you are lucky with the weather, there’s even space to eat outside and enjoy the incredible views. The cottage was clean and well maintained and although we didn’t have any issues, Chris and Susan clearly care about ensuring everything meets their standards. If we ever come back to the Highlands, we will look to stay again!

Lovely cottage in very peaceful setting with views of the mountains and over to Skye. Enclosed garden perfect for the dogs and cottage has everything needed for a comfortable, self catering break. Secluded, deserted beaches nearby and Gairloch a short drive for more beaches and shops. Diorbhail is an excellent host who responded quickly to messages. Would highly recommend this property.

Süßes kleines Ferienhaus,liebevoll eingerichtet mit allem was man für einen entspannten Aufenthalt benötigt. Inklusive frischen Eiern fürs Frühstück. Mega bequemes Bett, Fliegengitter am Fenster wären noch gut, da es so mit dem Lüften schwierig ist wegen den Mücken. Die Lage ist super, Nahe am Leuchtturm Neist Point und Dunvegan. Wir konnten die Insel von hier aus gut erkunden. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und kümmert sich schnell um alle Anliegen und Fragen.

We had a wonderful 4 nights at this beautiful and luxurious cottage. We loved everything about our stay- from the stylish and comfortable interior design, to the stunning views and amusing rabbits outside. Juliet was helpful in her suggestions of local restaurants and the instructions for arrival and departure were clear and simple. The bed was so comfortable! The large bath was ideal for soaking post hike sore limbs. We were looking forward to using the woodburning stove, but the weather was too nice (Yes, we were very lucky!) We found a car to be a necessity for this wonderfully secluded location, and while the private road was a bit rough, it was easily traversed with a standard rental car. The location was ideal for reaching all parts of Skye, being only a 5 minutes from two of the main A roads. This is an exceptional cottage and we were delighted with all aspects of our stay!

The moment we arrived it felt like home. Nathan and Aileen are fantastic hosts, polite and quick to respond to any queries.Location is great, Not far from local attractions such as Ben Nevis, The many beautiful lochs as well as being close to Fort William which will cover you for all your needs and the stunning countryside views, what more could you ask for. Please do not let the train track put you off because from our experience staying here we didn’t notice it. We really enjoyed our stay at Caberfeidh Cottage and would happily recommend to friends and family. We would love to come back again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Cabin Hill in Ord, thanks to our amazing host, Heather. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel incredibly welcome. The cabin itself is cosy, peaceful, and set in such a stunning location—it was the perfect Highland escape. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious homemade scones Heather kindly prepared for us. It was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with a host who truly goes the extra mile, we can’t recommend Cabin Hill and Heather enough!

Beautiful cozy cottage with absolutely stunning views. Isle of Skye is a busy place and this cottage gets away from it all. Explore the surrounding area - south isle - to get away from the crowds and tourism. Hike down to the loch where the mussel farm is - gorgeous! Thanks So much for such a lovely place Kenneth 😊

Elizabeth’s house is a traditional house but yet equipped with a huge array of features like dishwasher and washer to keep up with our laundry needs. Toys, basketball and Netflix definitely keep my kids entertained. Most importantly is the jaw dropping view of the sheep and greenery with the Braes in the background when you look out of the window. A friendly and hospitable host who is willing to go the extra mile! 👍

There is not enough space in this box for me to express how lovely Fiona and her cottage are! Everything is exactly as pictured (actually even more beautiful than pictured) and Fiona is lovely, incredibly responsive to any messages and happy to go above and beyond for any questions that I had. Everything in the cottage is clearly labeled with helpful instructions for use, and Fiona reviewed everything with me at check-in as well. I was traveling alone, and she checked in with me several times to make sure I was comfortable and ensure that everything was going well. A minor repair was needed while I was there and Fiona's husband quickly addressed it and was very considerate with ensuring the repair was done at a time that I would be out. The surroundings are peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I will absolutely be back!

Great location for this beautiful cottage right on the water with views to kyle of lochalsh, kyleakin to the skye bridge. Only a short walk in kyleakin to castle moil and some food places. Good place to stay to easily explore skye, plockton, applecross and glenelg from. It is well equipped inside with all you will need including a cosy wood burning stove if the weather is not kind. We got glorious sun except for one morning with thick haar when the boat horns were the loudest wake up call I've ever had. Views from every window with a lovely seating area by the window to enjoy regardless of the weather. If sunny the bbq was a great option to have in the garden. Fab wee seat by the water through the gate to sit watching the local rowing club, fishfarm boats, hebridean cruise ships and yachts passing by. We saw an otter fishing just off the garden, few seals and lots of heron's passing by on the wing so keep your eyes peeled.

Wonderful stay all around! One our most favorite places we’ve stayed and highly recommend!

Absolutely recommended for a holiday on the Isle of Skye! It is very lovely and it feels like a home after a few seconds :)
