Family-friendly holiday rentals in Guatuso

We absolutely loved this place. It is well maintained and has everything you need. It feels like home. The woodwork in the house is so beautiful. The property is gorgeous and has trails to explore. Carolina and Manuel arranged to get some specially requested food for our stay. They had the food there for our arrival which was so helpful. Manuel took us on an awesome night hike. Carolina’s husband also gave us a tour of the property too. Carolina and her family really go out of their way to make this a welcoming place. They grow amazing coffee on the property which we really enjoyed. They also shared their garden veggies and the bananas. We stayed 4 days and wished we had stayed longer. We found it easy to go into Monteverde for activities like coffee tours, cloud forest, animal sanctuary el Tigre waterfall, etc. There are some great restaurants close by the house and of course in monteverde too. We enjoyed ordering homemade empanadas from cafe Horizonte for breakfast.

All the reviews are spot on! This is our 3rd trip to Costa Rica and we were looking for something a little different than a normal stay at a resort. Eduardo & Marshal (father & son) were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. The house is huge! We enjoyed the balcony the most because you won’t have a better view in all of Costa Rica. It’s phenomenal! Towels were provided for trips to the hot springs. We did a rafting trip with our boys in the area, recommended and booked by Eduardo, that we will always remember. If you want to see toucans flying in the wild…book this amazing place right now. It was perfect sleeping at night. The windows were open, no bugs, and it even felt a little chilly during the night. Extra blankets were provided in all the sleeping areas. Our kids enjoyed the one bedroom apartment up top. The house has 3 separate areas for sleeping and hanging out. We loved it all and wanted to take the dog home with us! We hope to stay again!

La Finca Lodge is a true gem, exceeding expectations with an unparalleled experience. From arrival, we felt like cherished family. Magical ATV tours through sugarcane fields to rejuvenating mineral springs, and serene horseback rides exploring the stunning landscape, were incredible. Culinary delights were 'gastro-tacular,' farm-to-table feasts showcasing local abundance. The lodge's authentic focus shone in every detail. Even early mornings were special, witnessing farm life, feeding animals, and tending greenhouses. Leaving was hard, a testament to the profound connection and exceptional hospitality. This isn't just a stay; it's an immersive experience, an invitation to the region’s heart. We left eager to return, immersed in its magic. Without doubt, one of our finest stays, wholeheartedly recommended for an unforgettable retreat. Thank you to Esteban, the family and staff who made us feel at home. El departamento es privado con una gran cocina y sala de estar, también cuenta con dos habitaciones, cada una con una cama king muy cómoda y perfecta para descansar. Se sintió como estar en casa lo que más nos gustó fue la zona de la piscina y el jacuzzi privados, es un lugar perfecto para descansar y relajarse cerca de todas las atracciones de la zona al igual que muy buenos restaurantes lo recomiendo a cualquiera que visite la zona de la Fortuna

We had a fantastic stay at this charming little house nestled in the rainforest. The check-in process was smooth and straightforward, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of La Fortuna, making it easy to explore all the area has to offer. The home itself is cozy, clean, and surrounded by lush nature, which made for a peaceful and memorable experience. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us!

Our stay at the “pie in the sky” was awesome. We prefer a slightly more remote place, and this place had it in spades. Insanely beautiful views and perfect for our family as a home base while we were exploring La Fortuna and all its surrounding areas. Would absolutely go back.

This place is beautiful and provided the extra bedrooms and bathrooms our group of 12 (ages 12-71) needed. The location felt quite private, but was not far from Arenal and all the activities we had booked in that area. It is located in a little town, and there are great restaurants and markets close by. The pool and hot tub were great, and the garden area around it was gorgeous. Juaquin was so attentive and gave us coconut water, and Yadira's two meals were delicious! The house was beautiful and the outdoor sitting and eating areas were incredible. We had two regrets: we wish we had booked one more night here so we could have relaxed a bit more and taken Joaquin up on his offer to tour the farm. We wish we had used Yadira for another meal or two. She's an excellent cook and hostess. Jordy was very attentive and responded quickly to our questions. We were well taken care of without feeling that we lost any privacy. If we ever get to come again, this house will be a definite booking!

Nice house at location from where you can go to La Fortuna and Rio celeste in 70 minutes and Monteverde in 100 minutes as daytrips. Hot tub jets feels nice at end of daytrips. Caretaker Roiner who lives close to property is super helpful. Host is very nice but speaks only Spanish. Kitchen has adequate amenities, furniture and furnishings are nice. Overall no complaints, only appreciation.

J’ai beaucoup aimé mon séjour à la casita. C’est rudimentaire mais fidèle à la description. Ça été un lieu de ressourcement pour moi. Le lieu est un peu compliqué à trouver: il faut se rendre proche avec les coordonnés GPS puis suivre les indications des hôtes indiqués dans les spécifications et alors: il n’y aura pas de problème. J’ai passé un superbe moment avec Andy et Angy: j’ai même soupé avec eux et ils ont été très accueillants. Le déjeuner était exquis et j’ai dégusté avec plaisir leurs produits faits maison et ce qu’ils cultivent avec passion. Ils m’ont fait d’excellents suggestions d’itinéraire et j’ai pu découvrir des routes fabuleuses et un endroit où me baigner dans l’eau turquoise. C’était magique. Je recommande +++ cet endroit pour y séjourner. Le seul hic est l’absence de wifi et l’absence de réseau à la casita. il faut être dans leur maison pour y avoir accès avec le wifi. Cela aide au ressourcement et à déconnecter par contre 😊. Je pouvais venir quand je voulais.

This place is lovely and the host was very helpful. She booked some tours for us- one was last minute. The pool was fun, but the hidden gem was finding a stack of old National Geographic magazines. We spent a couple (very) rainy evenings thumbing through those magazines and considered it time well spent!

Photos are accurate. Mariana was really nice and the place is the perfect spot to explore around the lake.

It's worth an experience :-). Very quick communication and good view on the garden and part of the lake too.

This is a nice, spacious place. The hosts are super friendly and gracious. The town is beautiful ... one of my favorite spots in Costa Rica.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in La Fortuna! The highlight was definitely the stunning Arenal Volcano views—right in the backyard, it felt surreal. The location was perfect—close to all the best spots in La Fortuna, yet peaceful and private. The house itself was very clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We as a group love the place, we had a great time. We highly recommend to rent or have a Four wheels traction transportation.

This is an excellent place to stay in La Fortuna. Host was very quick to respond & friendly. The house is on the same road of La Fortuna Waterfalls, only a 4-minute drive from the waterfall entrance. And only a couple minute drive (maybe 5 minutes max) to get to downtown La Fortuna for many restaurants. Home is exactly how the pictures show & very clean. The pool is pristine and large. There is also a natural pond on the property, along with a second fish pond. Sounds of running water and waterfalls when sitting outside. Very nice... honestly better than the pictures. We saw birds and butterflies. Very relaxing, a mini oasis! The host helped us at the last minute when plans at another hotel fell thru. I am so grateful. Air conditioning is strong and cold. Kitchen was clean & had everything we needed. Host even has a little welcome pack of goodies in the kitchen upon arrival. Perfect location. Location is near "down town", yet quiet and private. HIGHLY recommend for La Fortuna!! (:

Nous étions 6 personnes dont 2 enfants, pour un séjour de 4 jours. Tout s'est bien passé. nous avons particulièrement aimé la piscine, le calme du parc arboré, fleuri et particulièrement soigné, les animaux, l'allée et le sentier de promenade dans la forêt.. Eduardo, le gardien, était gentil et nous a aidé quand nous en avions besoin. Bref, nous avons adoré notre séjour.

Verblijf was zoals vermeld, contact was erg spoedig en prettig! Zou hier zeker terugkomen!

Wonderful host and wonderful location! Thank you Jimmy you helped make our family vacation magical. Great activities all around Fortuna and host helped with them. Amazing relaxing home. Our kids and us loved it. Great for families or couples.

Had a great vacation at this beautiful home, we are a family of 5 with 3 girls (15, 13, and 11). The kids loved having their own room and bathroom. The "kids room" is located in the back corner of the property with the pool in-between the main guest house and the kids room, worked out great for us. We loved the open air outdoor kitchen. House is nicely removed from La Fortuna but the main guest house does back to the road and can hear the traffic, while light, in the evenings and morning while sleeping, not a big issue. We spent our days exploring the area, loved the food at Jalapas, La Fortuna waterfall, rope swing, ATV and Hot Spring combo excursion (La Finca Lodge, check it out! Only 12 people at the hot spring), and Judah set us up on a white water rafting trip that was a blast! Pool was bigger than expected and enjoyed while we were on the property. Used the propane grill and outdoor burners. Beds comfortable. The grounds are very well kept and have a very nice walking path.

We really loved this Airbnb. The small casita was very comfortable, had great views, friendly animals that came to say hello regularly and was close to lots of activities near the lake and town. The space felt clean, super safe, and homey. We will definitely book again, our favorite place near the lake so far!!
