This house has a beautiful view of the lake!! The complementary water activity’s are worth booking!! We enjoyed our stay and will come back!! Make sure to walk out on the dock at night and look at the stars!!

Our stay at the Great Pond Airbnb was incredible! The house was beautiful, cozy, and fully stocked with all the amenities we needed. We especially loved the paddle boat—it was magical to take it out on the lake early in the morning and watch the sunrise. Truly a dream! Finding the place initially was a bit tricky (we missed some details in the instructions), and cell service in the area is spotty, so definitely screenshot directions beforehand. Once settled, though, it was perfect. Being just over an hour from Acadia National Park was a huge bonus! We had a blast hiking, especially on Precipice Trail (challenging but amazing!) and Beehive Trail for a slightly easier, but still fun option. This spot offered the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway!

Awesome place! Easy to find and awesome location. Shower was hot quickly. Bed was firm (which we love). Would go there again!

Adorable cottages! It’s a great little space, my husband and I stayed there for part of our honeymoon and it was delightful. Everything was easy to access, use, and we felt right at home. The hot tub was wonderful!! And the overall atmosphere felt very nice.

We had a very relaxing vacation. Verona Island is convenient for day trips to a number of attractions like Acadia, Camden and even Monhegan Island. Even when the weather was bad there was plenty of table space for puzzling, Bananagrams and Scrabble. The house was comfortable with views of the Penobscot River.

Perfect stay for visiting Acadia national park. The cottage was super cozy and the shared areas were a huge bonus and super clean! We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. The host has thought of everything you could want including little kits to make s’mores. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend!

The Open Hearth Inn is a lovely place! We stayed in a cottage, but there is also the main lodge, complete with The Most Amazing Jacuzzi ever, open 24/7. I particularly appreciated that OHI opens their laundry facility to their guests in the evening. The location is convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia, with grassy areas for picnicking and restaurants close by. Our cottage was charming, with a little kitchenette and a very comfortable bed. Temperature is heat-pump controlled which worked fine for us (heat pumps are pretty standard in the north east and eastern Canada). Good communication and easy access, too!

Great location above Acadia, if you are going. Easy acess to go down either side. Also close to Bar Harbor. We took some snacks from the general area that came in handy while we were at the park.

The house was exactly what you want when booking an Airbnb. The host has it well stocked with the items you want to be available to you when you get there. Matt was very responsive and helpful if you have any questions. The location is beautiful. If I’m ever in the area I would definitely book again!

Absolutely loved our stay here! If you're someone who enjoys being close to nature and traveling with your dog, this place is perfect. The surroundings are peaceful and green. Fabiola was super friendly and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. The house rules were clear and straightforward, which made the whole experience stress-free. We felt really welcomed and comfortable the entire time. All in all, a great stay—we’d definitely come back!

The cabin was breathtaking, with a history painted and photographed among her walls. Perfect amount of space to accommodate a family should you have one. The morning sunrise was spiritual, and humbling. Host was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our dog. Arjuna. Will absolutely be returning. Thank you for an amazing and beautiful experience.

A quiet and peaceful stay we had here! The cabin is very remote which was perfect to let our dog off leash and run around. The cabin was extremely clean, well stocked with everything we needed and was so cozy for a fall getaway! It's about an hour away from Acadia but the drive did not feel long at all. Great communication from Craig and they left us welcome treats which was so nice!

What a cool house! Very unassuming from the pictures. It's like a time capsule -- shag carpet, retro wallpaper, vintage fixtures and paneling. Although old, everything was clean upon arrival. I love old things so I enjoyed the aesthetic, although for someone with heavy allergies or sensitivities, the age and moisture may be something to consider. That being said, I have chronic allergies and sinusitis and I would 100% stay here again. The property itself is the focal point and the draw. It's set on a point of the cove where you can hear and see the seals in the distance, and you feel like you're on an island. While we were there, the sun came up at 4:30 every morning and we were out on the back deck at 4:45 with coffee in hand. So peaceful and serene! Use of their kayaks and life vests was an added bonus -- note to self, the islands in the distance are further than they look!! :) The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and we enjoyed the use of the back grill. Lovely home!

This cottage is lovely and huge! It has a theme of the color orange, which I happen to love. Our guests had a private area in the basement with their own bathroom. The view is great - overlooking the cove (just like the picture.) We did lots of cooking in the kitchen which was well stocked. The area was close to Acadia which was the focal point of our trip (besides the lobster.) Christy was very responsive to questions we had - and very friendly. Great place for a reunion of friends or family!

Cute little cabin in the woods!! Super clean, check in was very easy. Nichole was very easy to communicate with. The cabin was perfect for a quick weekend. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful location, clean, easy to check in and great communication, the only downside was the bedroom curtains didn’t block out the light very well so both days we were wide awake at 4:50am. Besides that everything else was great.

What a great place for a peaceful, quiet vacation! As described and very cozy. When we arrived, there was a beautiful basket waiting for us with goodies from our host Emily. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful sunset. A surprise engagement of our daughter and her boyfriend made it extra special! Would recommend this place and definitely would stay again. Beautiful and peaceful lake home. Our family was so comfortable in the new home on the lake. It was situated close to Bangor and near Acadia National Park. Even though our stay was short, it was so wonderful to come back to this well equipped home. So lovely to drink coffee on the porch and watch the ducklings and listen to the loons. Loved every minute!

10/10 would stay here again! The pictures don’t do it justice, the space is perfect for a private getaway for a couple or single person. The kitchen especially is very well equipped and the location is remote enough to make you feel like you’re the only ones there. Great spot to stay if you’re visiting bar harbor/Acadia but want to be away from the hubbub. Celeste was an excellent host and very responsive!

This place was amazing! Beautiful area and our dog loved it! Everything was as described and we had a blast using the kayaks and paddleboard.

We loved staying at Gaynor's place. It was clean, cozy, well-equipped, peaceful, beautiful, comfortable beds . . . in short, everything we hoped for. Gaynor was extremely friendly, flexible, and communicative, helping us to get excited about going there. The location was outstanding—a natural setting very close to where we needed to go at UMaine and Bangor. If you're a birder, there's tons of bird life right outside the door. We didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but that looked like great fun in warmer weather. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely book here again. One thing guests should be aware of is that access to both bedrooms is provided by a very narrow, steep winding staircase. We had no trouble with this, but someone with disabilities or someone who is very large or has poor balance definitely might. If you have concerns, check with Gaynor about this before you book.
