Family-friendly holiday rentals in Helford River

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Caroline’s place! We loved the freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival. Check in was super easy as the key was just left in the door. Our little boy Myles loved watching the alpacas too! Overall very pleasant and refreshing stay I would recommend!

A lovely house in a fantastic location. Peter and Scarlet were extremely easy to deal with and very responsive. The house was clean and tidy with good amenities - especially the hot tub and the pool table. Well worth checking out.

A wonderful peaceful place which felt like a retreat. The owners were friendly and being able to join in with feeding the animals in the morning was great (not just for children). Sauna and hot tub was great. They would check what time we wanted it put on which was considerate. Was a surprise weekend for our mum and was even better than expected. Thank you for the stay x

We loved our stay in this cottage! It has such a cosy homely feel and is equipped with everything you’d need! The bed was super comfy and it was nice to have a tv in both bedrooms and the living space! The hot tub area was gorgeous and a great place to unwind and relax, very private area! Shaun the host was super friendly and very responsive! We couldn’t fault this place - amazing value for money. Would recommend and would love to return in the future!

What a wonderful find. We met at Tygwella for a family holiday, some of us coming from Australia and some from Manchester. The house was ideal. It was spacious so we could occupy different “wings” with our own bathrooms and come together for meals, chat and play. The house was very generously supplied with basic provisions, kitchen and laundry equipment. We wanted for nothing. Having two ovens was great for cooking adult and children’s meals. The location was so peaceful with great views and easy access to the coast path and beach.

This has been our 4th Visit at Ali's huts. We love it here and can't recommend it enough. Ali is a great host who is always accommodating and helpful. the area is beautiful and tranquil. Totally relaxing getaway.

This place was such a great find! We’ve just got back from the most perfect week away. We originally only booked for 4 nights but we extended our stay as we were having such a wonderful time. The place is just lovely with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved our welcoming gifts too. Kate and Simon are brilliant hosts and were extremely easy to contact. St Agnes is a beautiful location with some superb coastal walks. There’s also plenty of places to go out for food and drink. The beach is stunning also. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is considering it (just book it!). Thanks again for a brilliant stay Kate and Simon!

Fiona was a fantastic host, loads of info and very friendly. the house is perfect for a family stay and we loved the cream teas left for us. there is tea and coffee and lots of other handy bits. cupboards full of everything could need like pots pans cling film tuppawear... the main bed was very comfy and cot bed provided. the jacuzzi was great but we unfortunately didn't use the pool as we were too busy seeing the sights. the garden is amazing and we felt very at home. We really loved our stay and we would definitely come back and recommend it to our friends and family.

Wow - what an amazing place to stay! This is probably the most memorable AirBnB I have stayed in so far. You are right on the edge of the seafront and by the harbour, with the double aspect living room enabling you to see both - the sea views are just stunning. Margaret was a really friendly and communicative host, and the parking space is good. I would heartily recommend this as a great place to stay; it is just so special being able to look out and see the sea from bed, and to hear the waves lapping at the shore as you go to sleep or make your cup of tea in the morning.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Julia and Lian’s beautiful cottage! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage is full of character and charm, set in a stunning rural location that offered us the perfect escape from city life. The cottage itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed. Julia and Lian were exceptional hosts—approachable, friendly, and always happy to help when we had questions or needed anything. Their kindness and hospitality made our stay even more memorable. A special highlight for our children was the presence of farm animals nearby—they were absolutely delighted and spent hours watching and interacting with them. It added such a fun and unique experience to our stay. We highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with charm, comfort, and genuinely welcoming hosts. We stayed at Blackbird Studio for five nights and really enjoyed it as our base to explore Cornwall. While the weather wasn’t the best, the house made our stay memorable. The views are really stunning and you have your own little English garden. St Ives and various dog friendly beaches can be reached within a couple of minutes. The house was even more spacious than expected and equipped with everything you need. Lorna made sure we arrived safely and was always on hand. As mentioned in the description, the driveway is very (very!) narrow, but we managed to get through for unpacking/packing and parked in the little carveout by the road on the other days, which was completely fine.

Wonderful, clean and spacious cottage. Quiet area. For us, Dutch, the country lane to access the cottage was a bit of a challenge. Nevertheless, great location for sightseeing.

I stayed with 2 friends for a function at porthtowan. Stunning view of the beach, cute and functional interior and a comfy bed. Mike was great at communication and even let us check in early as nobody was staying the day before which was super helpful, thanks. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

What a beautiful and cozy cottage! Very warm and surrounded by greenery. You can walk to St Ives or stroll around and discover amazing views of the coast. All amenities make you feel at home. Every detail and interior is well thought of. Comfortable bedding and such a homely atmosphere. I would definitely come back. The hosts - Jayce and Hannah are super friendly and responsive. I wanted to extend my stay as I loved it so much but it was booked ahead, therefore I was offered to stay at another of their rental which was fabulous - The Cabin in Nancledra. The place and surroundings are stunning. Beautiful terrace, very spacious and so peaceful! I had the best night's sleep ever there and waking up with the birds singing, watching rabbits running around the field is priceless. I even had a play with their lovely dog Rusty, who comes to say hello and brings a ball to throw :) Definitely recommend to those who want to escape the city and reconnect with nature. Can't wait to come back

Fantastic property, in a great location. Great communication from the hosts! We are a family of 5 and the home provided great sleeping arrangements and bathrooms with the kids loving their secret stairs! Parking was easy right outside the property. Excellent coastal walks especially to Praa Sands which ended with a great meal in the Welloe bar & restaurant! Also had 2 lovely pub visits to the Harbour Inn down the road from the property who do a great roast! Overall we highly recommend you book here if you fancy a holiday in Porthleven!

We stayed for a weekend and it was perfect. A beautiful property in a very quiet and relaxing setting. Hosts provided all of the information we needed. We will certainly return for another visit in future!

We loved Shell Cottage- so homely and everything was of a very high standard and spotlessly clean. Excellent location for Falmouth, gorgeous beaches and beautiful walks. Would highly recommend.

Our stay with Stephen was great! Very clean and private space cabin. With a lovely outside area where we sat with some friends. Very quiet and peaceful. Stephen was great and really flexible RE: check-in timings and always had a very quick response to any queries I had before our stay. Would highly recommend.

This was a lovely place to stay. We were 2 couples and a dog and we all had a relaxing time at the house which has everything you need to cook and relax together. It’s a very peaceful place, I am a very light sleeper and I slept so well here! The beds were extremely comfy and cosy. The sauna and jacuzzi were perfect both times we used it we had it to ourselves which felt very special. Highly recommend it.

Marcus's place was great for our visit to Cornwall. The apartment was very clean and in a nice building. Within walking distance to lots of restaurants and two beaches. When we got lost during check in Marcus was available over phone and he called us again later to make sure we got in okay. Very friendly!

We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. It was bright and spacious for our party of 4 adults and 2 young children. The pool was brilliant and really added to our stay. Having 2 rooms which were en suite and a third separate toilet/shower room was very convenient. We were sad to leave and would love to return in the future.

I would recommend Fistral cottage, it was larger than the pictures seemed to show, and it had character and charm. The kids loved having access to a pool and hottub, we were lucky enough to have these to ourselves mostly, but we picked a time where it wasn’t peak holiday or very busy. The cottage was in a great location for a short drive to beaches and restaurants. I recommend the Italian down the road, zucchini 😉

This was our family’s second stay at what is our favourite spot at Retallack. The lodge, being right on the water, feels peaceful and secluded, but is only a few minutes’ walk to the pool, restaurant and other amenities. Mel is a great host, always replying quickly, and the lodge has everything we needed for our stay. We’d definitely come back again.
