Located directly above a retro coffee shop, this is a guesthouse where you can read books.Located in a small-town area, this guesthouse doesn't have many shops, but it offers a laid-back atmosphere where guests can blend in with the local community. Starbucks Coffee is located just a short walk from the guest house. There is also a library on the premises. I hope you will take your time and read this book with a cup of coffee in your hand. Hainan City is also the entrance to the Kumano Kodo, and you can actually walk the Kumano Kodo. Additionally, this guesthouse offers free bedding for an extra guest. Also, please note in advance that, due to the size of the room, there is no TV or washing machine. There are several laundromats near the guest house, so please feel free to use them. OPENING March 20, 2026 This is the old kominka-style inn, B&B Morino Akari, nestled in the mountains between Nara and Yoshino, surrounded by greenery, and limited to one group per day. (The name means "Light of the Forest") ⚫︎ During your stay, breakfast and dinner prepared by the owner are included (please refer to the photos) ⚫︎ We can also accommodate meals for pescatarians and vegetarians. The kitchen area is shared with Hotos. The rest of the space is for your exclusive use, and you can spend your time freely as if you were renting the entire house. The spacious area of approximately 230 m² can accommodate up to 8 people. It is ideal for family or group trips. There is also good access to Yoshinoyama, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and the World Heritage Site Konpoy-sanji Temple. We have preserved the historic beams and tiled roofs while making the space comfortable for you to enjoy. The tranquility of the mountains and the soft light that illuminates the night. Here, you can forget about everyday life. Because of the natural surroundings, we recommend that you come by car. Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

Guesthouse Agae is a limited stay for one group that has been renovated from an old private house.The property is in a very convenient location, with the Kumano Kodo and Chikurōji approximately 550 meters away (about a 7-minute walk), and a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and a restaurant (Tororoya) all within a 1-minute walk. The owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, so we will do our best to answer questions about walking the ancient pilgrimage trail, provide advice, and offer transportation if needed.We can also provide a personal guide, so please feel free to contact us.
