Our rooms are part of a boutique hotel called Sage Leaf located at Camp Kanawan, Morong Bataan. It is located in a unique mountain setting which was the site of the UN refugee camp for indochinese boat people from 1975 to 1995. The fenced area is 365 hectares of wooded forests with very interesting Buddhist monuments spread around the park. It is also adjacent to the Bataan National Park and Morong river where guests can trek and swim.

The space
The room is 44 square meters and tastefully furnished with two queen size beds or one queen and two single beds. It’s has a small sala with a flat screen tv. There is sufficient cabinet space. The bathrooms are hotel size.

Guest access
Guests can access three pools in the property and explore the 365 hectare wooded area of Bataan Technopark where interesting Buddhist monuments and great views are waiting to be discovered. The large open space is very safe for walking or biking. There are sports facilities like basketball courts, football fields and tennis court. A museum about the area is adjacent to the building. There is a minimal charge for entrance to the museum.

Other things to note
Camp Kanawan is adjacent to the Bataan National Park and Morong river. Guests can book guides to trek through the jungle and visit the Aeta village. These is also an interesting 100 meter hanging bridge above the Morong river that is interesting to see. Guests can also swim in the Morong river.

Neighbourhood highlights

Bataan Technopark 350 hectares, fenced, with 24 hour security. The place is very quiet, wooded and ideal for bonding and exploring.

Bataan Technopark was the site of the former Philippine Refugee Processing Center which cared for hundreds of thousands of Indo-Chinese refugees "boat people" that made there way to the shores of the Philippines from 1975 to 1992. There are many Vietnamese, Khmer and Lao monuments left by the refugees that can be found all over the camp. The place is ideal for hiking and biking. A Museum of the area is located near our building.
The Kanawan Aeta (indigenous) Village is near Bataan Technopark and is a 40 minute hike to the village via a hanging bridge. We can arrange expert Aeta guides for those who want to trek and explore the nearby Bataan Forest park; Kairukan Falls, Mount Silangan and Mount Natib. There are two waterfalls accessible through mountain trails.
The Pawikan (Sea Turtle) Center is 20 minutes drive from our building. The center gathers the eggs of Sea Turtles that come to the Morong beaches to lay their eggs. The eggs are protected, incubated, hatched and released to the sea. It is a once in a lifetime experience to witness the release of hatchlings to the sea.
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar the popular heritage resort is located in the next town, Bagac, and is 40 minutes by car from our lodge.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Morong Gate is 9 kilometers from the lodge.
Our hotel has a partnership agreement with a nearby beach cove 10 minutes drive.
