While we know that the overwhelming majority of guests on Airbnb are respectful neighbors and travelers, it’s integral to our commitment to Hosts and the surrounding community that we diligently work to help promote responsible travel.
Our Community Disturbance Policy is clear: disruptive gatherings are not welcome on Airbnb and we work to prevent them.
We have measures in place to help identify and prevent reservations that are potentially higher risk for safety and property damage incidents, like disruptive gatherings. When Airbnb guests attempt to make a booking, our reservation screening system uses a combination of signals to determine whether the potential reservation may carry a higher risk for these types of incidents. If our reservation screening system detects that a potential reservation carries a higher risk for a disruptive gathering, we may block the reservation or even take action on a user’s account, including account removal.
We use automated processes to look for signals that suggest the booking may present a higher risk for a potential disruptive gathering. These signals may include, but are not limited to, data related to a guest's reservation, guest's account history, the listing itself, and message thread topics. This automated assessment may result in the reservation being rejected and the guest being redirected to explore other stays, a message asking guests to acknowledge our policies against disruptive gatherings, or a manual Airbnb agent review of the reservation to determine whether it can proceed.
If you think a reservation was restricted or canceled in error, please contact us.
