It was a great experience to stay in a place where the tradition of a Japanese samurai house remains. I'd like to visit again when I get a chance. I hope you are always healthy and have a good stay.

Grandpa's flat 2:Central Sta 5 mins, free WI-FI

The internet is a little unstable. I have to switch between different WI-FI, and the signal is not strong enough. Other than that i have no other complaints. This is a very good guest house.

Mico's place is small and basic, but great value and great location. It was so central and very easy to get around. He was a very responsive host and helpful with our questions. We would stay again.

Hide A Way - Tanegashima Sunset Retreat -

SonjaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
What a beautiful place, the location along the coast in a quiet part of the forest, wonderful view of the ocean from a deck, inside, there is everything there that you need. In winter it can get cold, but it heats up quickly, nice bathroom, many thoughtful and beautiful decorations. The host couple were really lovely and helpful, and also open, insightful and inspiring. Thank you so much for having me and for the wonderful stay and chats!

nakazonoryokan Room 212 wifi Free, Tenmonkan, 10min walk to Harbor

Friendly traditional hostel, even if a little rustic! We enjoyed our stay and were well helped by our host, especially regarding the booking of our ferry to Yakushima. The recommendations given were also useful, the recommended ramen restaurant next door is absolutely delicious and the onsen opposite is a very affordable experience to do :)

民泊みどりやね

The husband is Japanese and the wife is Taiwanese. It is nice for Chinese speaker. Communication is key obstacle when traveling to less developed area in Japan, need to use translating app. The house is traditional Japanese style. It is big and clean with a well structured kitchen and a front garden. They provided bicycle which is good transportation to travel Ibusuki in slow pace. They had nice suggestions to travel around Ibusuki. As we were traveling to Yakushima. They also proactively checked and provided us the latest information about the ship 🚢.

Enjoy a tropical time watching the sunset over the horizon, with the murmur of the waves and the comfort of the sea breeze.

A gem of an Airbnb, run by the loveliest, kindest, and generous hosts. Tomoko san and Isao san treated me more like a member of their family, than a guest! We had fun conversations, drank shochu together, sang songs, and they generously shared their dinner with me. Tomoko san makes an amazing breakfast, and we had it together looking at the beach from the warm living room. Isao san took me out to some neighboring attractions and showed me his work raising bees. Tomoko san packed me a snack pack for my long journey to Hiroshima, which was delicious. I chose the ocean view room. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise bouncing off the water was a special highlight of the stay. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you should take it!
