Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kalahari Desert

Great small house in the middle of a gated compound (with 6 other similar houses) with 24h access to a receptionist/manager. Car can be parked inside the compound. The house is relatively well equipped and offers a good value for money. We stayed 2 weeks there during a volunteering stay at Maun and it was convenient. Highly recommended.

Wonderful old farm house with many original features. Lovely peaceful setting and very good value for money. Great for families & groups. Even has an outside play area for children. The workman on site (think Jacobus) was welcoming and attentive. He even lit of fire for us. Some might find the bathrooms rather dated, but this didn't bother me. Would love to return.

We had a really special time, at this big home. The staff went out of their way to make us all comfortable and at home. The gardens were lovely and the pool area was amazing! My boys had a blast swimming and running around without us having to worry about them disturbing other guests. The beds were super comfy and the lounges were tastefully decorated. We also enjoyed our coffee in the mornings on the verandah facing the Chobe river.

Stunning flat in an ideal location in the middle of Windhoek. We were two couples visiting from the UK for a couple of nights and it was ideal for us. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. Spacious living area. Secure parking. Super helpful and friendly host too :) Would definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous historic house with plenty of amenities. Irene and Rob were also wonderful hosts. We loved their garden and array of succulent plants. Would stay with them again!

Fantastic stay. Right on the beach. Quiet and clean. Laurette was great and helped me out finding a dentist while i was in town. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We really liked the place, very clean, as described in the ad, and the breakfast was very good (for an additional price). The place is excellent for nature lovers, especially for us who like birds. I recommend it 100%.

I had a really great stay at Sese's Bnb. She was so catering having arrived really late in the night, she still welcomed me and gave me a brief tour of the Bnb also added some pointers for my stay and movements on where to find what and how to move around Maun. The Bnb had all the amenities listed, it was clean and well serviced thus really comfortable for my stay. I very much recommend anyone hoping to stay in Maun to make their reservation with Sese's Bnb. Wishing the host many more guests for her hospitality.

Sampie's place was as described and more. It is located right on the Kavango River which flows majestically right under the deck we spent a lot of time on. The facilities are perfect for large family groups, even though we were just the two of us, we could imagine families really making the most of this stunning place. There is a swimming pool to keep the kids occupied and a TV with multiple channels, Netflix and the the like. The wifi is good. The standout for us was the shower!! It was stunning. If you are visiting this western end of the Caprivi Strip, we highly recommend Sampie's place. We would also like to mention that the kitchen was very well equipped, with everything one would need for self catering. Johannes and his wife were also fabulous, making sure we were well looked after and the venues were kept in order. Thanks for a lovely, relaxing stay.

Had a wonderful time with family. Definitely a must for a Henties weekend away. Loved it.

An absolute gem! Unspoilt nature in rustic yet extremely comfortable, well maintained and clean accommodation. Although power sources are solar and gas, you still have all the comforts of home - just better because it is so amazingly quiet and peaceful…and the stars…oh, my goodness…incredible night sky!!

We stay at Christine's every year on our way to Limpopo - it's on the edge of town, feels like the countryside - a warm welcome, good coffee, milk, all the small things that make it a standout place to stay.

Erika was a wonderful host who made me feel very comfortable. Took me a bit to find and she offered to have someone meet me. She also Picked me up one night from a local bar/restaurant so I was not walking g in the dark. Great place great host.

We had a super nice stay with Xandra in Windhoek! Xandra's place was cozy and perfectly situated to explore all that Windhoek has to offer. The accommodation was comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Nada welcomed us very warmly and even offered to share the Christmas holidays with her family and friends. We were able to taste local specialties and were particularly well integrated during the holiday periods. Thanks again for everything with very good memories of the sunset on top of the dunes. We stayed at this property for two nights. It is located on a remote working farm with lots of animals and beautiful surroundings. The unit is very comfortable and equipped. The hosts were very helpful with input about roads during the rainy season which helped us with our itinerary. It was a pleasant stay.

Great apartment, I felt right at home. It's very spacious for one person and has all amenities that you need. It's very central, in short distance to supermarkets, restaurants and a mall. Mara is very kind and welcoming. Amazing place to stay also for long-term.

Our stay at perfect stay was really amazing and we will definitely go back, the cleanness, safety, and beautiful interior design made our stay so calming and relaxing. Also the easy self checking in and out was perfect, we however recommend that you get an air conditioner for hot times because it was extremely hot and we sweat most of the times.

I stayed with Milankies family for a month and had a really good time. The area is quiet and safe to walk around. The kitchen was well equipped and you have everything you need for cooking easy meals. The wifi works well and the hosts were very helpful when I had any questions. They is a supermarket and some restaurants close by too.

Stayed at the apartment for a longer period a couple years before. This time my stay was shorter, and as last time, Sandra was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. The apartment is great, super clean and at a very central location - would highly recommend!
