Kiso Valley, Nagano Prefecture | A quiet, privately rented accommodation built in 1931
Located in the town next to Narai-juku, Nakasendo's post town, a historic town that has flourished as a region for lacquerware from the Edo period. It was built in 1931 in this town, which was designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings and still has many lacquerware shops. Our house is available for rent as an entire house, limited to one group per day, without meals. It takes a little while to get here, and there are no supermarkets or convenience stores in the area, but that's why I think this place has a quietness and a casual, simple beauty to everyday life.It would be nice if you could stay like living in this old town, such as reading, walking, local sake (sake, wine), and sleeping slowly. There are no screen doors in the old houses nestled between the mountains and valleys, so in the warmer seasons, wildlife may enter. The 95-year-old building is not polished to a high shine down to the last detail. We are preparing to welcome you as clean as possible, but we would appreciate it if you could come with a big heart. We use the accommodation fees we receive from you to repair the building. First, I would like to take care of this wonderful house for about 20 years so that it can be passed on to the next generation.

A tranquil, authentic Japanese-style traditional house in Nishi-Minowa, Ina City, nestled between the Southern and Central Alps Escape the city and rediscover tranquility
A place to escape the constraints of city life and the digital world and reclaim time with loved ones A tranquil hamlet in Nishi-Minowa, Ina City, nestled between the Southern and Central Alps. Standing in one corner of the property is a traditional Japanese-style kominka (old house) that awaits you as your “second home.” This is a place where time passes slowly. Instead of smartphone notification sounds, what you hear is the rustling of trees in the wind and the singing of wild birds. At night, the starry sky, where the Milky Way can be seen with the naked eye, evokes a sense of wonder that I had forgotten in the city. This spacious accommodation, which can accommodate up to 12 people, is ideal for extended families (up to three generations) or groups. Fully equipped with a parking lot that can accommodate up to seven vehicles, this property is perfect for gatherings of multiple families. Experience the harvest of seasonal vegetables and fruits, enjoy a campfire or BBQ on the wood deck overlooking the Alps, and relax under the starry sky. Here, you'll find “genuine experiences” that make children's eyes light up.
