Cottage holiday rentals in Kilmun

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

Lakeside Cottage is beautiful, peaceful, steeped in history & easy to access once you know where it is, we drove past it 3 times lol. We were greeted with gorgeous fresh flowers in each room & a very tasty bottle of prosecco. Most Definitely will be going back at some point in the near future & can't recommend it enough as a quiet getaway - listening to the river Ayr was blissful!!

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

Very true to the listing the cottage is charming, tastefully decorated and homely. The entire cottage is modern and new and the kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with everything you would need. Bathrooms are modern, bright and good rainfall showers. Spacious bedrooms with fresh crisp linen and towels. Hot tub is very good but agree with previous reviews that it definitely needs a few hours to reach the perfect temperature. Nice decking area off the kitchen with outdoor couches but weather was a little inclement which in turn brought out the dreaded midgies!! Huge garden which was safe for our dog to run around with easy access to the stream at bottom of the garden! The cottage is located off the beaten track and is quite remote but definitely ideal if you are after total peace and quiet. Not disappointed and would recommend!!

We had an amazing stay. The cottage was beautiful and the surrounding views were breathtaking. Marcin was an attentive host and we would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely location and David was very responsive. We had a wee problem with the hot tub and David came out to rectify it early morning when the weather was at its worst. Great hosts and take pride in their accommodation and facilities. A great break in homely accommodation with the hot tub as a lovely addition. The weather didn’t spoil our stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this great location.

We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, and as others have said the games room is fabulous fun, the horses were a huge hit with our kids, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a fun day out! Thank you again Helen and family for a super place to relax and have great fun. We really enjoyed our visit.

David’s place is breathtaking! The views from every room are stunning. It’s out of the way up a farm track. It’s very comfy and super clean. Thats the upside of the “no dogs upstairs” policy , which is in place. It’s a place which will remain in your memory forever…. West Kilbride town is also a joy. The artsy side of Scotlands’ Craft Town, the fabulous red coffee shop, the Kandy bar bakers, Climies butchers and the greengrocers shop, all on the main street… makes you feel like you’ve stepped back to a time pre supermarkets. The town park is fabulous. You can walk from the town all the way down to Seamills beach, walk along the beach and then cut back up to the main Street where The Barony Arts Centre and cafe is also well worth a visit. All in all a wonderful place to be. An exceptional air bnb in a great little corner of the country. Loved it.

This was a truly amazing place to stay. Everything was perfect. We stayed with our 2 adult sons for our annual holiday get together. The decor is really calming and comfortable. Spacious, ample hot water, great kitchen table. The surrounding areas are incredible, breathtaking scenery. Felt sad to leave, such a happy time, beautiful house, beautiful area. This was our second stay at Bernard's place and it was just as we remembered. It is spacious, comfortable, practical, and in a great location. Our dogs had plenty of space in the secure private garden. We have enjoyed both stays very much as we have found it a very relaxing place to stay. We can also highly recommend the meals at The Catch at Find restaurant where we have always had a first class meal. Richard & Sharon

Idyllic place in a beautiful location - short walk to the beach and the rat race event. Was super clean, shower is great, bed comfy and perfect size for myself. I lucked out in a sunny week and the lil terrace table and chair got sunlight through the day. Lorna was super responsive and quick and efficient. We loved the cottage and even more both of your suggestions for what to do- and a history lesson to go along with it! You were responsive when needed and we loved being there!

The property was the best bnb we have stayed in. The kitchen has everything and it was the same throughout the house . The welcome pack was very generous and everything about our stay made us feel welcomed. The bathroom has a bath , shower and a small attachment for washing your hair all requirements met. The garden was private , peaceful and the views were just beautiful.When the weather wasn't too good we loved sitting on the sofa looking out on the Loch. Julie our host was very accepting with our cat and bent over backwards to accommodate our arrival and leaving times. Just up the road is a hotel called Loch Melfort which had amazing views. But to be fair you will just want to stay home get a bottle of wine and look at the fab view. What a fabulous place !

Location,for us ,was perfect. Dog friendly garden Good eateries around ,from coffee breaks to meals. Beautiful surrounding areas to visit Will be back next year Thanks to those who made it a positive experience

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed for a great stay & was spotless, comfy and had wonderful views of the area. Peaceful, with a lovely cafe/restaurant only a couple of minutes walk away.

Cathy was a fantastic host – attentive but never intrusive. The cottage itself was peaceful, very comfortable, and made excellent use of its space. I really enjoyed my stay 😊

Ive booked Julie's place a few times for colleagues coming to the area to cover shifts. Julie is very responsive, always helpful and makes everything very straight forward, would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay for 5 nights in total, this AirBnB was in a very nice spot and it had everything we could need/want. Caroline and Stephen were great hosts, very responsive and approachable if we had any questions. Check in was flexible and worked well. Caroline made sure the place would meet our needs as we have a baby (which it did). Overall a very enjoyable holiday. Caroline and Stephen gave us advice on nice places to visit and it has ready access to the Dunoon ferry and the Highlands. Would throughly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The balcony was a real highlight — stunning views and a lovely spot to relax, even with a bit of rain! It was also super pet friendly — our dog felt right at home. Jo was very responsive and helpful with recommendations, which made exploring the area even better! The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, but still had plenty to do nearby. We’d definitely love to come back. Highly recommend!

A very special spot right on the loch with beautiful views from almost every room. The space has everything you need and is very cosy! Great and responsive host. Would most definitely visit again.

A beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings with great views overlooking the canal. The cottage itself had everything you need and was very comfortable. If we are in the area again would definitely look to stay here again and would certainly recommend it.
