Skye Earth House - Luxury - Accommodation

TessaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Skye Earth House is a really special place. The building is set beautifully into the landscape with everything finished stylishly and to the highest specification (great choice of local interest books!) . But what makes it spectacular is the setting: hidden away at the end of a farm track, beautiful views out over the loch, sheep and cows grazing over the fence, and even a medieval fort to discover just a short walk away. All this, and the house is within easy distance of Portree and Uig so it’s ideal for exploring the island. Peter was a great, communicative host. Highly recommended!

Bridge Cottage, Kensaleyre

NicoleRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We loved our stay at Bridge Cottage! Helen is a hostess with the mostest - very thoughtful and responsive, with helpful notes throughout the space. Everything was super clean, and we really appreciated access to a washing machine and drying rack. The bath / shower was excellent - spacious, with hot water and strong pressure. The amenities were amazing! Helen truly thought of everything! Just a heads-up: the home is close to a fairly busy road, but we used the free “Rain Rain” app for white noise and slept comfortably. Highly recommend! American Notes: Lodgings in most European countries do not provide wash cloths; and make their beds without a top sheet. The size of the beds can be confusing as well. At this place: Washcloths were provided. No top sheet Full size bed (As the listing describes, the ceiling is sloped in the two rooms upstairs. My husband is just shy of 6’2 but he was able to stand up - just barely. We bumped around a bit but it was manageable.)

Terrace annex

Tess met us in the rain when we arrived to show us the way to our little apartment behind her house. She had everything labeled inside. The bedroom and bathroom were tiny, but we had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. She provided coffee, tea, milk, and some extra treats. We found Skye to be an expensive place to stay, but Tess's place was more reasonable than others I looked into.

Lovely! This cute, well-appointed cottage nestled on a sheep farm overlooking a loch was perfect for our family of five and our four wonderful days on Skye. Karen was a first rate host, super responsive and helpful. We’d stay again in a heartbeat

Forest View

This place was so cute and had everything we needed and more. As well as all the essentials such as towels, bed linen etc, Leah also provided some really nice touches like bath robes, all the toiletries we could need, bread, milk, butter, and irn bru in the fridge. There are 2 double beds and it was cosy but big enough for the three of us! Also a bonus that it’s surrounded by such stunning scenery and we found it a great base to see the northern side of the island. Leah was a great host, responsive and friendly, and she even went above and beyond to help us wash our clothes as the washing machine was temporarily out of order. Can’t recommend this place enough, if I’m ever back in Skye I’d definitely stay again.

Charming two bedroom cottage in Waternish, Skye

MarkRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our family of four spent a magical week in Scotland at several different places and this was our favorite. We felt immediately peaceful in what felt like our own bay. Loved the views, the sheep/cows, and the touches like a wood burning fireplace. Would recommend to anyone who wants to “get away”. Loved it!

Tides Uig Isle of Skye

BethanyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed in this house as a party of five (parents + two teenagers + grandpa), and found the house perfectly laid out for a group. Each bedroom has its own en-suite, which was so convenient, and the living area and kitchen had plenty of seating for us to congregate around. The washer and dryer were super helpful for doing laundry (a rack and small fans are provided too, to finish off any clothes still damp from the condensation dryer). We didn't do any super complicated cooking, but the cooking we did was easy with the double oven, stovetop, and dishwasher. The view is unbeatable. Like just something from a postcard. We'd sit down in the morning and mean to turn something on the TV and end up staring out the window instead. We were there during a blustery GALE and the house was still completely airtight and snug, no drafts or anything. Uig is a bit more far-flung (although it has a couple restaurants and a shop), so be sure to plan for groceries and drives accordingly.

The Stables Cabin

Really pleasant AirBnB. Kristy and Stefi were always available and open to questions. The location is very clean and is also very well equipped. Only the price is a bit high, but for the Isle of Skye and the location, the price was already relatively cheap. We will be happy to come back. 😊
