Remote, Lake View Guest House

Do you need an escape from home? Our quaint one room studio cottage is located in our avocado grove with great beautiful views in the hills of De Luz. It has a king size bed, 3/4 bath, kitchenette with 10 cu ft fridge and stove (but no oven), gas BBQ, dining area and private deck ~ it sleeps up to two people. The cottage has it's own entrance and driveway just past the main drive. As you relax on the deck or from the house you will enjoy the panoramic views and a view of the lake. The cozy cottage is approx. 700 sq ft and is adjacent to our home on the property. We have "natural AC" (i.e. no AC but fans and lots of windows and doors). Also included is satellite TV and Wifi, and a continental breakfast usually consisting of bread for toast, fruits, coffee and tea. The cottage is a great destination for a "get away from it all" retreat, for hikers and for cyclists and motorcyclists that want to enjoy the back country roads and vistas. You will enjoy the gorgeous drive to our cottage with the windy, narrow tree lined roads. The Temecula farmers market is a popular destination on Saturdays, and Temecula has a fabulous selection of wineries for tastings and dining. In Fallbrook, there are a variety of great restaurants, cute shops including a retro candy store,and a popular art gallery as well. We are located close to the Santa Margarita River Trail which is a 6 mile loop trail located near Fallbrook, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is used for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. It is accessible year-round. The Santa Rosa Plateau is another fantastic hiking spot, with vernal pools and gorgeous rolling hills and panoramic views. We are located 7.5 miles (15 mins) from Fallbrook and we are 25 minutes from Temecula, and 45 - 50 minutes from Oceanside. In addition, we are also approx 1 hour from Downtown San Diego and the SD airport. Just an FYI, we are 15 minutes from the closest store in Fallbrook, and the roads to get here as mentioned before are windy but lovely. We also have 2 sweet indoor/outdoor kitties that might stop by for a visit but we do not allow them in the guesthouse. Just to note, living in a rural area we share our property with the local critters that pass through such as coyotes, raccoons, etc. In additions to the furry critters, we also have the insect type. We try not to use pesticides so you potentially could see a bug now and again. Note: due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations and at least a 3-day hiatus between stays. Weekly rental possible.

Located on a 17 acre horse ranch with endless views of live oak trees and granite boulders. The Spanish style home has 2 light and bright bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and includes a spacious kitchen, dining room, family room and patio. It is incredibly unique and there's nothing like it. I had a fantastic stay at Carlos’s suite! The space is completely private and comes with everything you need: a cozy bedroom, a cute little kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and even a nice-sized fridge/freezer combo. The big TV and the dedicated parking spot right outside the window add to the convenience and security. It’s an ideal spot for skydivers visiting the area, and I’ll definitely be recommending it to my friends.

This place is beautiful! It's very nicely decorated, has plenty of space, both indoor and outdoor. Photos are very accurate to what you actually get! Location is quite remote, but very peaceful. The flip side to that is that it's a good 20 min drive to the closest grocery/gas station and 40 min drive to Temecula wine country -- just something to note. Doug was a great host!

Ebony is an extremely gracious and responsive host. Her listing is gorgeous and well-kept. The area is tucked away between Canyon Lake and Menifee, but is in a beautiful, mountain-surrounded family-oriented area that is pretty quiet. I felt completely safe there, walking at night and parking my car on the street. The home is extremely well decorated and appointed, and Ebony is a pleasure. The house sits squarely between the 15 and 215 highways and, as long as you have a car, provides easy access to the local sights. I would highly recommend.
