Canyon lodge Rushaga

BrigitteRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Canyon Lodges, by far, exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I was given the upmost finest service. All the staff members were friendly, welcoming, kind and efficient. There was not a moment where I was confused or unattended. The food was top quality, well presented and importantly, delicious. Chef's Kiss! The decor was of natural colour schemes and beautifully designed. The views of the mountain tops were breathtaking. I could write an essay on my wonderful experiences. Thank you, Alfred! for all that you did for me, I cannot thank you enough!

Lake Bunyonyi Community Rest House

MaciejRating, 5 stars31 months ago
Jonathan is a member of local community and he is accepting his guests in his own house giving 1 room with bed (with mosquitiere). There is no running water or shower but water in the lake is clean. If you want to experience how normal Ugandans live this is a place for you. To come to Jonathan place you need to take boda (7000 SH in november 2022) to the small harbour with a boats. From there locals can take you on the other shore.

The place is really nice and has many smart ecologic decoration made with recycled materials and a lot of creativity. For now the place is on renovation but we still managed to sleep in a very comfortable and clean private room. The host is super nice and very open to international community members. We had a very good time!

Iliba Guest House and Home Stay

HannahRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a great stay at Iliba guest house. The staff (Ferdenand and Emma) were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We booked for 3 guests (my husband, sister and I) and they had 3 large double rooms with ensuite bathrooms prepared for us. We only used 2 of them but the price was super affordable for 3 rooms! A wonderful breakfast was included (which Ferdenand made to our order) and he even prepared it for 5:45am to enjoy before an early departure. The guest house is walking distance (~15 minutes) to Kisoro town and ~45 minute drive from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Much better than we initially expected. Wake up to the sounds of the iconic crested crane and the beautiful lake Bunyonyi, great sunrise and sunsets. Silas was on hand to keep us engaged and satisfied. Meals on point. Great place to unwind and detach from the fast lane.

Ekiko Roundhouse Itambira Island, Lake Bunyonyi

KristineRating, 5 stars20 months ago
Great stay in the Island. We were upgraded from the round house to ha house with a large balcony overlooking the lake. Super nice rooms and joint area. We were welcomed by Hilary the great boatman who took us to the island and at the island the friendly staff. Unfortunately it was raining the whole time we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the island and lake as much as we could. But we utilisée the fact that we could relax under the terrace roof and read books and play games. Be aware of many scams in Kabale. We were approached by many taxis going there saying that the place had arranged pick up even though this was not true. On the way back we wanted to go with bus, but Jaguar bus scammed us and gave us expensive tickets 40k each for a bus that never came. So we were put in a car that drove us to the boarder (20 mins) and then in a small bus which we know only costs 6k. This was very frustrating. So be aware and talk with the hosts to figure the best solution out.
