We had a lovely time staying at the Old Angel with a large group of women. The sheer number of bathrooms was super handy with the large group number, and the living and dining spaces were super functional for a group of our size. There is a one half freezer and a large fridge, which Nicola had left some treats in which was a lovely touch. Bedrooms were well organised and very clean, with towels provided. There’s a village shop right next door, and a pub 20 meters away which was glorious in the May sunshine. Nicola and her team were very helpful in response to any questions/feedback we we had - overall we had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place to others!

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Wonderful location, the kids loved having a pool and playground (or 2 if you count the pub playground) at their doorstep. The views were lovely too. Also a testament to the layout was how easily pur kids ended up making friends with other kids there over such a short period. The only 2 things I would change - beds were too hard for me (but that is personal preference) and the showers weren't the best - though showers in the pool area were perfect. Clearly not something that would change my 5 star rating. A couple of other points - being so close to Carsington Water (1 minute drive) was superb. Ashbourne and Matlock also close and lovely locations - very much enjoyed our little excursions there and to The Heights of Abraham. Thanks, a lovely stay.

It was lovely inside and out and spotless there was 11 of us staying aged from 45-11 and not one of us had any faults they all thought it was great the only thing that the teenagers complained about was the pool closed at 6:30 and we had only gotten back from Alton towers at 6pm so maybe keeping it open a little bit later would benefit the younger crowd.

Perfect location for our little family. I wish we booked a larger space because there were more options if we didn’t book so last minute. Beautiful location and grounds. Nice facility’s for our toddler and run around and play…and an excuse for me to do the same!

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, very clean and tidy. My children loved the pool and games room. Easy to get to all the main attractions will be coming back soon. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a great stay at knockerdown. We loved the pool and the play park was perfect for the children to play while I got dinner done. Overall it was a lovely environment and so close to local amenities. I am looking forward to staying again soon.

This was an absolutely lovely place to stay, I would absolutely come back with very little hesitation! I will however point out a few things that may be helpful if you choose to stay on this wonderful property... because it doesn't have aircon, if you are staying during a bout of warm weather, all of the gorgeous windows do turn the cottage into a bit of a greenhouse - however because they all open up, a breeze is totally possible. Only other note is when opening the windows to cool down (and because this is a real farm in the country) there are A LOT of bug friends you will make. I think we'll come prepared with a bug candle or two next time so we can enjoy the open air and less mosquitoes ;-)

Sunshine Cottage is a beautiful home. It was welcoming, cosy & exceptionally clean. Lovely views from the garden. We managed to park along the road near the Coop & it’s a short but fairly steep climb to the cottage. We had a brilliant few days with plenty of walking which is just what we were looking for. Well what can I say… if I could give 100 stars I would! Phillipa was amazing. She was so helpful and supportive to me organising my sisters low key hen do here. We had the most amazing time - the perfect cottage. We made friends with lambs, soaked in the hot tub, chilled and ate pies at the red lion! We really felt at home and it was so so special. Phillipa added so many personal touches and we even got to meet one of her little doggies Stanley. Phillipa we WILL be back! Thank you!!!!

Lovely peaceful house with a homey feel. It was very clean and clear but wasn't a show home which for us was definitely a positive and made us comfortable. The host gave really clear and helpful instructions and although we didn't need to ask anything additional I felt he would respond immediately if required.

Great stay at Sam’s house for a local wedding. He was extremely helpful too!

We have a lovely stay at Jolly Cottage, and loved the quirky decor. Communication was great and everything was very smooth. Melbourne is a beautiful place with really nice shops, bars and restaurants. Can also highly recommend the nearby Breedon Priory Spa. Thanks for a brilliant weekend stay 😊

Kirsten is a five star host - we’ll definitely be staying again. Her communication was very regular and friendly and the welcome basket was a lovely surprise. The home was lovely and much bigger than we’d expected. It’s full of character and has everything you could think of. All the bedrooms are good sized and the beds were super comfy. The area of Melbourne is so quaint, yet has plenty of lovely restaurants, cafes and walks. Thanks Kirsten!

We had a lovely family break at Caroline’s Lodge. The setting is beautiful and we really enjoyed the access to, otherwise, private land for lovely walks and visiting Staunton Harold courtyard. The lodge itself had everything we needed. It is very comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery and utensils for 6 people. Many thanks for the welcome cake and bottle of wine in the fridge they were a lovely touch which we appreciated. We have had family breaks like this over the last three years and Caroline’s place is the best so far. We would love to return.

I had a lovely stay at Nurgul’s 3-bedroom house in Derby. Everything was exactly as described in the listing — clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location is quiet and convenient, and parking was easy. Nurgul was a friendly and helpful host. I highly recommend this place and would happily stay again!

This is my second stay here and it was just as good as the first (apart from the weather being so warm). Clear instructions from the owner and really easy to gain access. I will 100% stay again if available.

It was a very clean and tidy apartment with everything we needed. The only issue was the hot water in shower, it kept going off and caused a difficult experience in the shower. Apart from this, everything was perfect!

Lovely weekend - great place and particularly gorgeous outside area. Perfect for the kids to roam and enjoy the good weather.

An absolute gem! So cosy and well equipped that you forget you're not at home! Spotless, beautiful decorated and has that luxury feel. The hosts are helpful and friendly, really lovely people 😊
