Eclectic garden villa among ancient trees
The space
The word ‘Molori’ means ‘to dream’ in seTswana and truly captures the essence of Molori Safari Lodge, which is globally renowned for being South Africa’s most luxurious game lodge. This five-suite retreat sits in the heart of the 75,000-hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, 400kms northwest of Johannesburg. Originally built for the family in 2002, it was transformed into a paradise retreat for discerning travelers in 2007. Defined by its exquisite attention to detail, highly personalized service and unpretentious affluence, this fine residence is a perfect fit for those who expect the very best.
Integrated around a family of trees, Molori’s use of natural materials immediately soothes the spirit and accentuates its surroundings. Rich hardwood heated floors and smooth boarded decks lead the eye from indoors to out, to a mirror-calm infinity pool which will entice you for a lantern-lit dip. Absolute privacy is assured in this little corner of paradise, and you can sit and read for hours or gaze at the mind-stopping views of the Dwarsberg Mountains to your heart’s content.
If entertaining suits you better, host a social event here and gather around the bar or take your turn at the grand piano.
Molori’s gourmet chefs will personally consult with you before creating nutritious and delicious meals from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Whether you choose to enjoy them in the dining area, al fresco on the terrace or from the comfort of your in-room bar, it's your choice. Your wellbeing is a priority at the resort and when you’re not relaxing in the hot tub, there are plenty of shared amenities on hand at the health spa. Work off any excesses in the gym, sauna and steam room, indulge in a spa treatment (additional cost), and plunge into the chiller pool for an extra refreshing zing.
Whatever you decide to do with your days, a good night’s sleep is inevitable at Molori. All the bedrooms in each suite are graced with king size upholstered beds which can easily be converted to twin beds where required. Each bedroom comes with deluxe en-suite bathrooms with showers. Five of the seven bedrooms also boast freestanding tubs. Most have access to a private deck or balcony and enjoy views of the valley or animal waterholes.
No African adventure would be complete without a safari and you are welcome to join a twice-daily game drive or arrange a guided walk in the bush. Be sure to take your camera! Molori is 102 km to Sir Seretse Khama International Airport and transfers are included.
