L'Antiquaire - 5Br - Sleeps 10
10 guests · 5 bedrooms · 5.5 bathrooms
French for “antique dealer,” L’Antiquaire villa in Provence displays all the refinement one would expect from someone in that profession. This group of buildings, mellowed by time and the sun, was originally a large Provencal farmhouse. Ancient terracotta floors, walls finished in traditional chaux and mighty beams supporting the upper floors all evoke its rustic origins. Within this setting, you’ll find a treasure trove of heirloom antiques and fascinating decorative objects, each with its own story to tell. For all its bucolic charms, the amenities in this gracious home are nonetheless well up to date. Air conditioning and central heating provide the right climate during any season, while the heated swimming pool makes a great place to relax and play. In the pool house is a complete summer kitchen and barbecue. Outdoors, an extensive garden awaits, with terraces and a shaded dining area, fragrant plants and mature trees. Why not whittle away the hours with a game of pétanque on the court nearby? Inside, you will find a home entertainment system with satellite TV, a library and Wi-Fi access. The beauty of the interiors nevertheless help set this “antique dealer” apart. Statues of various epochs and personages have pride of place, while other intriguing characters peer down from splendid portraits. Priceless hand-painted cabinets and superbly carved mirrors share space with local olive jars that have also survived the centuries. The living area is plush and comfortable with plentiful seating, a fireplace and doors to the terrace. The dining area provides seating for twelve. Five fabulous bedrooms accommodate up to ten guests at L’Antiquaire. Old stone walls remind visitors of an era gone by. Four bedrooms include en-suite bathrooms and two provide air conditioning. Well chosen linens and accoutrements ensure a pleasant night of rest. L’Antiquaire is within a few minutes drive of various top quality vineyards where you can enjoy a little tasting in the French countryside. During your stay, you will also be located less than thirty minutes from the town of Carpentras and the historic town of Avignon with its many splendors. The Provence Country Club and a wonderful eighteen hole course is also located nearby. However you spend your days in France, when you step into the warm resplendence of L’Antiquaire, you will likely leave with nary a care. Copyright © Luxury Retreats. All rights reserved...
