Beachfront holiday rentals in Matala beach

we had a great week at Maria's place. The covered terrace is the most beautiful room in the house with a magnificent view of the sea. The beach is less than 5 minutes' walk away, but beware, for people who have difficulty walking, the slope is rather steep to climb. Maria is very responsive and responds very quickly to messages. Agia Pelagia remains a small seaside resort very well located to visit the north of the island. Beautiful discovery

Very nice Villa and very friendly host. Her father is also living there and takes care of the garden. You can park there easily. The equipment and stuff that is available is as promised in the description. Location is actually not right next to the beach, but 10-15mins by foot, but by car it’s only 2mins. The beach there is amazing. The water is quite flat for a while, which is nice for playing in the water and probably for kids. Also the restaurants (especially Seven) there are really good and have a good price.

Perfect location, 20m to the beach, many restaurants, friendly people, parking spot bit tricky but never more than 200m. Communication perfect, very proactive. Exactly as the pictures shows.

We spent the most lovely time at Nikos place with our baby and friends. The villa is located directly by the sea with a spectacular view. We enjoyed really enjoyed our breakfasts watching the waves and listening to the ocean so much. The place is very quiet and private. Nikos is the most welcoming host and gave us great directions for the island. We can definitely recommend staying there! Thank you so much for having us.

Super clean and cozy apartment. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. Our host Panagiotis was always friendly and reliable. Supermarkets, different restaurants and the beach were within walking distance and around the property you always found a (free) parking space. Clear recommendation for those who want to travel to beautiful Agia Galini 👍🏻

Jeronimo is a really great host. Very, very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and welcome right away. The accommodation is beautifully located above the small Soudabucht with magnificent views. Two recommended taverns are within walking distance. Jeronimo's bar is also great and not to be missed. We can highly recommend the beautiful, simple but functional accommodation.

Close to the beach. Parking available. Apartment has everything you might need. Helpful landlord. Everything within walking distance, car is only needed for day trips. Nice toys for the kids. The only downside is that it is next to a busy road with the necessary noise.

Our stay at the villa was nothing short of incredible. The location was peaceful and serene—away from the busier tourist areas, it truly felt like our own private resort. The views were absolutely stunning, and every moment there felt like a dream. The house itself was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, and the heated pool was a highlight—especially during the cooler evenings. It made it easy to enjoy every part of our stay, no matter the weather. George, our host, was fantastic. He was always just a message away, ready with helpful suggestions and warm hospitality. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was better than expected! The location was great, we had easy beach access to a relatively quiet part of the beach. There were loads of great restaurants near us and we could walk into the town centre within 35 mins. Lovely amenities and very clean. Beautiful view of the ocean and square from our window. Pool was great with a lovely bar. Check-in was very easy and the staff at the hotel were very friendly. We would 100% recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Rethimno and looking to have a peaceful area to stay and don’t mind walking into town.

Giannis is a very kind host. He informed us very friendly about the lovely accomandation and even created a guest app with a lot of regional hints and adivses. The appartement was very cozy. The beds and the chairs have even been extraordinary good. The construction is solid and also the tough crete wind could not disturb us. Don't hesitate, book it ;-)

Great place! Beautiful view. Wonderful outdoor area with pool. Paying extra for pool heating was worse it. Sea shore across the street from the villa but might need to walk couple of minutes to sand beach with umbrellas. Grill was available per request. Some restaurants are within walking distance, but I would recommend renting a car. Hosts are very responsive.

What a fantastic experience we had during our stay at this beautiful villa in South Crete! Everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment of arrival, it was immediately noticeable how extremely neat and hygienic everything was. The villa was really sparkling clean and taken care of down to the last detail. Everything you can think of was there – from utensils to beach towels – which made us feel right at home and completely relax. The hospitality of the host was extraordinary. He was always available for questions, gave us great tips about the area and made sure we really lacked nothing. What a warm welcome and service! The location of the villa is also absolutely a plus: beautiful in a quiet area, with stunning views and yet close to the most beautiful beaches and charming villages. In short, we had a dream vacation. A special word of thanks to the host for the perfect welcome.

Don't miss the opportunity to stay here, meeting the cute cats ( please feed them :), enjoy the surrondings and if you like to swim, the beach just 10 minutes walking distance is perfect for you. I swam 5 kilometers and enjoyed after that the beautiful bar and restaurant close to the house. RECOMMENDED!

Highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in the area. The house was exactly as described and as pictured in the listing. Antonis was a great host and went above and beyond in many ways (helping with directions, providing local recommendations, leaving welcome treats and even giving us a departure gift). The house had everything you need and the pool was incredible. The town and beaches were also amazing!

Very spacious, modern apt with a beautiful balcony. The street noise below made it difficult to sit out and talk there, but the view of the ocean was very nice. Well appointed kitchen. Very clean and neat. Mihalis gave us a great recommendation for dinner nearby that was lovely. We had a nice stay here

I loved the tiny house, every millimetre, it’s across the road from the shepherds caravan and you are lightly woken by him calling the goats in the morning. Wonderful. The cliffs are covered with wild thyme and the scent mingles with the sea breeze bringing another sensory tweak to the exceptional surroundings. From the moment you cross the mountain peak you are greeted with a never to forget 180 degree view of the deep blue Libyen Sea, that literally is on your terrace of the property. There are two empty beaches at the foot of the cliffs, but two cafes and a slightly busier beach in the village if you prefer. It’s an unspoiled paradise, on Sunday you can hear the monks song and the bells echoing up from the village. We only spent three nights in Tris Eklieses, but it will remain with me forever as a really unique experience. Outside of peak season the village supermarket is closed the nearest one is about 1/2 an hours drive away, I envy the owners, it’s a very special place. THX4ALL.

We spent wonderful and relaxing holidays in Dimitri's apartment. The apartment is fantastically beautiful and tastefully furnished, with high-quality furniture and it really lacks nothing. The terrace has a unique beautiful view of the sea and we spent many beautiful hours there. Dimitris is super friendly, always available and with helpful tips for excursions, restaurants, etc. he helped us a lot. He also organized the transfer from the airport and it worked out perfectly. The location of the apartment is also perfect. Supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance and the bus station is just across the street. We highly recommend the apartment, for us the most beautiful so far and we will gladly think back to the time and come back soon.

Niki and Cristos were really lovely and friendly hosts. Fresh flowers, homemade biscuits and cake, wine etc were provided and left in the apartment. The apartment was bright and clean. We were received very nicely and hospitably, the apartment was shown, fruit and drinks were provided. The hostess always responded very quickly to questions and we felt very comfortable in the sparkling clean apartment, which was very well equipped. On foot it was about 100 meters to the sandy beach by the very beautiful sea. In addition, very good restaurants were within walking distance in approx. 5 minutes. A successful vacation and always recommended!

We absolutely loved our time here! The listing description was spot on. No surprises as everything was exactly as described. The best part was 100% the beach! Its literally right in front of the apartment! Falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves every night was so nice. Agia Pelagia itself is ideal for a relaxed vacation. The beach is peaceful, very clean, and has a great mix of sandy spots for lounging. There’s also a solid variety of restaurants nearby, plus plenty of supermarkets and souvenir shops just a short walk away. Everything you need is within walking distance. I came here with my best friend and we had the most amazing time. We’re already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful seaside getaway!
