Pet-friendly holiday rentals in McHenry County

We came to McHenry to visit family that lived within walking distance of the house, so the location was perfect for our needs. It is also a nice walk to downtown and the lake walk, which we enjoyed. I love the neighborhood and have been there many times - very quiet and safe. We didn’t spend much time at the house, so I can’t comment on the amenities, (though the style of the house is dated as you can see from the photos). However, the beds were comfortable and the house was clean, so it was just what we needed to sleep there during our family visit.

This was hands down the best Airbnb stay we’ve ever had! The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and super comfortable. The backyard was a perfect bonus—great for relaxing and enjoying some quiet time. What really stood out was the host's kindness and thoughtfulness. We accidentally left something behind, and she went out of her way to make sure it was safely returned to us while we were still traveling. Above and beyond doesn’t even begin to cover it. Highly recommend!

Christine’s place was perfect for our needs. We were in town for the night for a triathlon. It was conveniently located near downtown McHenry which was very charming. Christine was very communicative and shared all needed information as well as recommendations for restaurants, etc. she was easy to work with and was flexible. Her place is VERY clean and comfortable. I wish I wouldn’t had to wake up so early so that I could have enjoyed the comfy bed a bit longer. The backyard is lovely and super relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. We felt right at home here with our toddler and our dog. Our son especially loved the fun sunglasses on the coffee table. We hope to return and would definitely recommend.

From arrival to departure this property delivered, beautiful & peaceful with gorgeous windows that invite the views inside. A charming pond with kayaks and loads of fun art & sculptures keep you entertained at every turn. The easy welcome and the proximity to Richmond and Lake Geneva round out a great experience - we will be back!

We had a great stay! The house was super clean and the host was very communicative and friendly. The house was perfect for us and Perla was so thoughtful with the amenities she set out for my baby! Can’t wait to stay again!

Pictures didn’t do this place justice, clean and very well furnished. Kitchen fully stocked as if they live there full time. High end utensils and kitchenware. Very cozy, well lit during the day, several spots to hang out indoors and outside with lots of entertainment options indoors, lots of room to roam outside and a fire pit . Sandra responds instantly, she’s very far from you so you have privacy but always available to come by if you needed anything. Sandra invited my daughter to help her groom the horse and that made her day. Would visit again for sure, and perhaps in the winter if available. The fireplace beckons. There’s an XL size griddle outside which I was allowed to use. She’s offering you all she has, so treat it with care and respect and clean after yourself so that we can all enjoy her place. We enjoyed our stay at Antonio's lovely home. It had all the comforts of home and more. I would most certainly recommend this home to anyone looking for peace and relaxation while on vacation.

Used for 4 nights for 7 family members family get-together (need to plan and book on ad-hoc basis). Each and Every member insisted me to provide 5 overall rating. My Daughters of age 13 and 10 also mentioned that they are going to highly recommend to friends once school re-open after ongoing summer vacation. It was a nice little house located inside a golf club. Beautiful environment and nice facilities. Plenty of beds and pillows which was very nice. The host was quick to respond to our inquiries during the stay. The spiral staircase was the only thing that was a little concern to us because of the little kids. Overall, it was a very good place to stay if you're visiting the Lake Geneva area.

The house was a perfect fit for my family of 8. The amenities were great and Nicolet provided excellent communication.

Debbie was fabulous to work with. Communication and helpful instructions were provided at both check in and check out. Would to come down this house as it exceeded expectations.

A great place to stay, we were a group of three visiting and it was perfect for us. Plenty of space for all three of us to be able to do our own thing when we wanted and not get in each others way. Deck and outdoor patio area with the firepit were fantastic for nice evenings. Small things like good water pressure and hot water were A+ which really makes all the difference for a comfortable stay.

Lily was great! She was very responsive! House was very clean and my employees had no issues staying here! If you are looking for a house to stay in for a little getaway this is a GREAT spot!

This was our family's first time doing any sort of "camping" (we had a cabin, did not bring a tent, so it was technically "glamping") but it couldn't have been a better time. Sylvia and her team all worked together to make sure everyone had a great time--whether staying in tents, in campers, or in cabins. There were fun activities throughout each day, the community bathrooms were cleaned throughout the day and night, the pool was nice, all the amenities such as the playground/gaga pit, jump pad were photographed and described so we knew just what to pack. There was a phone number you could text if you needed more firewood delivered (even after hours) which was REALLY nice. My kids LOVED the little store most of all...lots of basics like foil/firewood/milk/butter/aspirin to buy at reasonable prices as well as really great collection of well-priced toys and gems the kids loved shopping for. It was easy to say yes! Overall, it was a wonderful time and my kids said they want to go again!

The pool was great, very well maintained. While we did not Kayayk or ride bikes it looked like a lot of fun if it hadn't been so hot. We enjoyed the local Water Show at Wonder Lake!

Absolutely loved staying at Sylvia's! The camper is very conveniently located within the park - close to all the amenities and activities! Easy to access, beautiful grounds and a very peaceful stay for my family and I.

We had another wonderful stay at Collin’s place! The kitchen was well equipped with a dining room table large enough for us to share meals with local family. We enjoyed drinking our coffee in mornings in the backyard and ending the days with games or watching tv in the den. All the comforts of home in a clean and comfortable Airbnb. I enjoyed evening walks to Ol’ Timers Park as well! We will definitely stay again.

Although having only one bath may seem like a downside for a family, you can work with it. The game room with a family and the backyard plus the location and driveway made it all worth it. The kids so loved that game room and wanted to be nowhere else from morning to night, other than running in the yard which is fenced and perfect. The kitchen was great and we could all sit down to a meal. Great local eating. Everything was clean and neat. Just a perfect location where we built wonderful family memories.
