He spent three years restoring a beautiful ancient portuguese 1700's house which is now a lovely place to take a rest and enjoy the Island's life. The old water tank is now a salt water swimming pool surrounded by a relaxing garden. Fan, air conditioning, family rooms, suite with private garden and see view terrace. We recommend Ellen's house to everyone. Great local, beautiful house, access to the beach and a beautiful view of the terrace. zaida was a wonderful person who always surprised us in the affection with which we prepared our breakfast. Ellen is a great host always ready to help us. the village will always be my lodging when you come to the island of Mozambique.

Beautiful place in the middle of the island making it easy to get around to both ends of the island. Gabriele was super helpful by offering to arrange a driver to pickup from the airport, providing recommendations of places to eat and things to do. I was upgraded to the A/C room with private terrace which was beautiful and enjoyed a large spread for breakfast on the shared terrace each morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. After walking around the island I was able to come back to Gabriele's place and relax quietly to a book or take a swim in the pool to escape the heat. I would definitely come back!

Paradise exists and is called Vila Moringa. Great place for rest, excellent meals, beautiful nature, and breathtaking sunsets. The people who work there are wonderful and Suzanne welcomed us with great affection and care. I highly recommend this accommodation. Go to Vila Moringa without a second thought.

Comfy Room at the Charming Cafe Central

We had a great time at Café Central. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is very good. We had a little problem with the booking as the room we booked on Airbnb was no longer available but they were very responsive and the room they offered us as an alternative was also good. The only thing that it was not so good was the WiFi that didn't work in our room. We have just one suggestion: the outside of the hotel is usually full of children asking tourists for money. Although we are aware of the poverty suffered by many people on the island, often the best way to help these children is not to give them money, even though it is very difficult. We were lucky enough to meet an association ("heartseed") on this island, which is dedicated to helping these children (and also helping them get out of the vicious cycle of getting their money by asking tourists). Their suggestions on the best ways to deal with these kids and help them (without simply handing them money) was very helpful, and we thought it might be helpful for other tourists as well. It seems to us that if Café Central shared with guests some information and tips on this topic, as well as the work of this association (or others that may exist), it could greatly benefit the well-being of the guests, and simultaneously help these children.

It's a easy 5 star review at Gabrielle's place and I loved it. I actually made a mistake and found out the next day that the booking was wrongly made for the day before. He let me stay the night even tho it was my mistake. that was really nice. everything is clean, the place is beautiful and the balcony for breakfast os the best with sea view. I would recommend that anytime again and again

We had a great stay at Gabriele’s. The place is decorated with taste and we enjoyed having breakfast on the rooftop. Gabriele was very kind in helping organising us a boat tour in a short time. Thanks Gabriele !
