This is a simply furnished top floor studio apartment w/ a private terrace garden in our 3 storied house. Staying at our place is living like locals. We are located in central Kathmandu with easy access to transportation, stores, heritage sites & tourist center Thamel (5 mints walk). We adopt eco-friendly ways and our place is relatively green and quiet, tucked in the lane, off the main street. Most houses in the neighborhood are of relatives making it more local, family friendly and welcoming.

1 KING SIZED SINGLE BED . IT CAN BE SEPARATED INTO TWO SINGLE BEDS ON YOUR REQUEST. ONE BEDROOM. ONE LIVING ROOM, ONE KITCHEN, ONE BATHROOM. Centrally located with easy access to sights and scenes of Kathmandu. 15 minutes drive from the airport, 10 minutes drive to the center of the tourist area. Pashupatinath Temple is just about 5 to 7 minutes away. Boudhanatha stupa is also about a 10 minute drive away. The apartment is very comfortably appointed and has a very warm and pleasant vibe to it.

Cosy room 10 minutes from Thamel !

Comfortable home away from home spot. The bed was extremely comfortable as well as the bedding! Shazia and Farhan were not there when I arrived, but some of the family members welcomed me and assisted with carrying my suitcases as well. It would’ve been nice if the place had an AC installed- the fan was not enough to beat the heat. The bathroom was quite modern as well, although I found the shower knobs to be quite tight- I thought I was handling it incorrectly at first but then realized how firm the knobs were. Lastly, the bathroom had a permanent smell of urine.. not sure if that was coming from the window or from the bathroom itself.

It was a great pleasure to meet Naoko and her family. Before my stay, Naoko thoughtfully sent me a detailed guide introducing the nearby places, which was incredibly helpful. During my stay, whenever I had any questions, she responded promptly and kindly. Every morning, opening the window to see the beautiful scenery was truly healing. The house assistant also did a wonderful job with the cleaning — she even found an earring I had lost for several days! The spotless fans must have taken a lot of effort to clean as well. Everything was just amazing ^ω^. I look forward to meeting 風の家 again next time.

The property is conveniently located near the main street, but it was peaceful. I enjoyed good sleep, and loved waking up to the songs of birds! The restaurant in the property is lovely, and there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and I would love to stay again : )

Rahul went put of his way to offer/give us complimentary services, which we appreciated a lot. Daily recommendations of places to visit and food to eat in the city saved us a lot of time. Of the five hotels I've visited in Kathmandu, this is my favorite. I enjoyed my stay there so much I extended it for another week. I didn't want to leave. This charming hotel has a peaceful atmosphere, a restaurant that serves delicious meals, a bar, and a barista. This staff members are courteous, hospitable, and attentive. The hotel is safe and has a security guard on duty all night accompanied by the loveable Jack (the dog). About a 3-minute walk to the west is a nice temple, and the hotel is only a short walk to Thamel and Durbar Square where you can find bustling crowds that you can join in on various festivities...then retreat to the peaceful sanctuary that is Mephi BnB Hotel.
