Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Nova Scotia

Our stay was more beautiful than we could possibly have imagined. The stunning landscape right out the back never ceased taking our breath away, with some profound sunsets right over the bay. We loved sitting on the deck with our books and coffee, and especially loved walking down along the water, watching the tide go out and in. The restfulness of everything was absolutely healing and rejuvenating. Between the views, the beach, the critters (we saw the fox and some deer), the deck, and the easy communication with the host, staying here again would be a reason to revisit Nova Scotia, which is a 16 hour drive from our home! But it was totally worth it. I should also mention that there were too many amenities to take advantage of in the week we stayed there!

The photos can’t do it justice. Absolutely stunning, warm and inviting. Cozy and quiet and relaxing while still having comfortable amenities! Would LOVE to return during the winter! Walking down to the private beach area during sunset was magical.

Another great stay. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. The place is clean and welcoming with comfortable beds, lovely big bathrooms. But the best part of the stay are the evenings out on the deck watching the ever changing views across the Minas basin over to Cape Blomidon where the setting sun provides spectacular sunsets every evening and if you’re lucky you’ll catch sight of the bald eagles that live nearby

Very cozy place! It was right by the water with a beautiful view. Very convenient as well. We were about a 30 minutes drive from Downtown Halifax. Ashley was very responsive and helpful. Beautiful place and amazing host! I'd stay there again. :)

The Shanty was such a quiet and peaceful spot located near the seashore. Inside, the Shanty was super clean and the outside grounds were well kept. Restaurants and grocery stores were handy. This was an ideal spot to unwind and relax. Thank you Odette for sharing your Shanty with us - we enjoyed our stay.

The best and most beautiful location near Cheticamp. We were so impressed with this stunning lodge and its incredible design. Everything was so comfortable and laid out well. This place has the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever come across, we loved the cool water dispenser. And last but not least, the views are phenomenal! Thank you so much for hosting us.

Such a beautiful location! I could listen to the chirping birds & the flowing river forever and be so content! The hosts were AMAZING!! Quickly responding to my barrage of questions & requests! I give them 2 thumbs up & would recommend their home highly! Loved staying there!! ❤️❤️

We enjoyed this stay so much! It was clean, tidy, and well organized. The appliances were modern and easy to use, and the view was wonderful. The space was cosy and Gavin was wonderfully communicative. It was exactly what we needed to have a good rest after a long drive. We would highly recommend this stay!

We stayed for a weekend and it was WONDERFUL! The kitchen was gorgeous, the bathroom upstairs was so awesome. Loved the soaker tub and spa room. Parking was easy and everything was communicated very well. There was some work being done downstairs that got pretty loud at times but it was only for a few hours and in the middle of the day. The only thing I can think to improve of it adding blinds/curtains to the downstairs windows. The natural light was lovely but it would have been nice to have the option. Will absolutely book here again if we're in town.

Shobac farm is a unique architectural and farm experience. It was great to have gaffs point and Hirtle’s beach within hiking distance. The sheep were a constant fascination for our pup. Appreciated having access to a lap pool, steam shower and sauna. Thoroughly enjoyed having a wood fire and enjoying and vast country side views from the gatehouse.

Peaceful Country Cabins are just that. Very peaceful, lots of space, small cabins. They are exactly as described and pictured. Not fancy or large, but quaint and compact with everything you need for a lovely stay. The property is spacious and the hosts were very responsive and generous in providing information and cooking essentials we were lacking on a holiday when stores were closed. Ourselves and our dogs enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to stay in New Waterford before riding the Cabot Trail. Pool is heated and views are great. About 5 mins from town but most restaurants deliver - and the new pizza and bakery place is great. Karri & Corri were very responsive and had the place ready within 24hrs notice.

Beautiful spot, very peaceful and relaxing. Kids loved the pool, adults loved the views and the peace. Definitely recommend. Spiro was very responsive, and everything you would want in a host.

This is one of the best places we have stayed. The amenities are plentiful. The hot tub, the pool, the beds were extremely comfortable, the modern kitchen was very clean and well equipped ... The grounds are immaculately kept by Al "the dude with the cowboy hat" who was very pleasant to talk with and gave us some local dining recommendations. Our kids and grandkids had a wonderful holiday with us and wanted to stay there "forever" :>). We made many wonderful memories here. Kudos to our hosts for providing us with such a great Airbnb experience ... 5 stars are not enough to give this place!

This was a truly fabulous place -- my only regret was not staying longer. We found this listing after planning a trip to Five Islands Provincial Park, as part of a larger road trip around Nova Scotia. Had we known just how wonderful and peaceful the property and area were, we would have stayed longer and used the spot as a bit of a "home base" to do some more exploring around the region. The house is beautiful, and Jennifer and Barclay are really working to create a wonderful small vacation community, with a few other rental units on the property. Jennifer warmly welcomed us on arrival and gave us some local recommendations. The Five Islands Lighthouse Park, which is a 5-minute walk from the unit, is a fabulous place to watch the tide go in and out, and the surrounding residential community feels very warm and welcoming.

Hard to put into words how wonderful our stay was. Such a cozy, eclectic & unique experience. The sauna & outdoor shower created a mini Nordic spa experience. The beach was beautiful to stroll with our dog who loved the sandbars. The yurt had a fully stocked kitchen & the lemon berry cheesecake was divine! We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for opening your home for us to enjoy!

Everything was excellent the island workers were accommodating and very friendly. My party and I were extremely pleased with our stay!

We loved our stay at Ashley and Glen’s AirBnB. It is in a beautiful location with an absolutely gorgeous view of the water. The sunrises were glorious from the sunroom, which is set up with a great little coffee station. The cottage was well furnished and very nicely decorated with lovely antiques and older nautical artifacts. The bed is very comfortable and we got great sleeps while there. While we didn’t get much chance to use the kitchen as we were there to visit local friends, it is very well appointed and would be very easy to make your own meals. The living room area was very cozy at night for watching Netflix and I appreciated the diffuser and candles that were on hand. Ashley and Glen welcomed us to bring our two labs and were gracious about that which was much appreciated. There is a great waterfront trail for walking the dogs right outside the door. We can’t wait to return!

Wife and I were down for y-con as vendors. The cottage is a lovely, quiet home we both enjoyed after a long day. Andrew was quick to respond when we had questions. I highly recommend the cottage for those looking for a nice quiet getaway. We look forward to being back next year for the event again.

Wonderful stay at a great location and friendly accommodating hosts.Location and property was like a piece of paradise to us.Enjoyed the ducks playing in the pond each day and the dear passing by our doorway each night to get there supper from Kim.Enjoyed each morning breakfast prepared by chef Craig ,wonderful variety,beautiful presentation and delivered personally by Craig to our doorstep each morning during our stay.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a 5 Star vacation. We came from new glasgow and brought our family who were visiting from Ontario. It was such a sweet little cabin. We loved how every square inch was used and organized. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans, utensils etc. There was a restaurant quality espresso machine as well which was neat. The hot tub was amazing, and had the most breathtaking view over the eight islands. We wished we could have stayed longer, look forward to going back some time for a longer stay. Chelsi was very responsive and kind, really great host. 10/10 for my first airbnb experience!!

Beautiful, peaceful home with a balcony that was right on the water. Views out in every direction and a short walk to the beach. Sarah's place is very well organized for guests, extremely quiet, comfortable and clean. It felt like staying at a friend's who left treats for us in the fridge. Would 100% stay again. The only thing we regret is not staying longer!

Absolutely stunning! The space, both inside and out is well thought out and so peaceful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
