Please note, our property is located deep within the forest, requiring a 3km drive on a dirt road. While the road is generally well-maintained, heavy rain may occasionally make it a bit slippery or uneven. We navigate it in small cars too.

Stone House - Joy River Backpackers

The Stone House is self-catering and contains, in the main bedroom, one double and one 3/4 bed with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, bath and shower. The lounge, with a fireplace, contains a single bed and couch. Bedding is provided and mosquito nets. Joy River Backpackers is situated at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. A genuine African village experience, rustic & laid-back atmosphere prevails and the buildings blend serenely into that of the village. The water is potable.

Our expansive home in a wildlife estate in Hoedspruit is the perfect space to unwind and explore. Enjoy the passing-by of leopards, hyena, giraffes, warthog, buck of all kinds, mongooses, giant lizards and beautiful birds - all of whom make their way through our garden on a daily basis. Explore the Kruger National Park from multiple gate entries - the closest of which is just a short 30-minute drive away. The Kruger Park is a mere 58 km away on safe roads entering at the Phabeni Gate Close enough for a day drive to spot the Big Five. Sabie has all the essential shops, supermarkets and excellent restaurants.

Riverbed Africa Guesthouse

The Guest House is on the Gold diggers pass and has beautiful views of private nature reserve (MACNR). The Spekboom River is a twenty-minute brisk walk from the Guest House. The first thing you’ll notice about the guesthouse is it’s spacious open plan kitchen, dining room through to the living room. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom have a double bed and the third bedroom two single beds.
