Welcome to Chikyujinmura, an eco-village that cares for the planet and its people! Ben, a host who has spent the past 25 years living between Japan and Australia and traveling the world, moved to Ajimu-cho, Usa City, Oita Prefecture, an area known for its many power spots, during the COVID-19 pandemic. He renovated a historic kominka (traditional Japanese house) dating back 145 years to the Meiji era to create this accommodation. Located on a hill, guests can enjoy a delightful experience for all five senses, including breakfast, BBQs, yoga, meditation, and a sauna, all while taking in the beautiful rural scenery below and, on clear days, the view of Mt. Yufu, as well as stand-up paddleboarding at the spectacular waterfall nearby. At our on-site farm (currently under preparation), we grow vegetables using entirely pesticide-free methods. If you are interested, we can also offer nature and farming experiences, such as bamboo shoot picking and wild vegetable gathering, on our 3,300-square-meter (1,000-tsubo) back mountain. Anshin is a town famous grape-growing area where grape picking is extremely popular. Anshin Vineyards produces wines that rank among Japan's top 10, and visitors can tour the winery. Furthermore, Oita is Japan's top hot spring prefecture, and there are four hot spring facilities in Anshin-Oncho.Yufuin and Beppu, which are famous for their hot spring resorts, are a 30-minute drive away. Come and experience the Earth with all five senses amidst the vibrant energy of nature.

The host has just returned to his hometown of Taketa City, Oita Prefecture, after spending half his life training as a cook. The inn was started by the host's grandparents, and is now run by the third generation. We provide a luxurious nature filled experience in the countryside where not even a single bus passes through. The inn is surrounded by nice gardens and rivers, and the nearby shrines have great atmosphere. The rich scent of the straw from tatami as you lay down your futon, for breakfast enjoy four season cha-kaiseki prepared kaishiki style with wild plants or crops from our gardens and other local specialties.
