The original owner of the Cabin was an author named Catherine Woods. She wrote the very first book on the history of Palomar Mountain; Teepee to Telescope. Our stay was peaceful and exceeded expectations. I can't say enough good things about the view, the attention to detail, and the beauty of the space. We didn't even leave the place until it was time to check out because staying and relaxing was just what we needed! I would highly recommend this place and stay again. Great for birders-we saw like 20 different species of birds from the backyard. I was able to rest and reset in nature. I know how much work and effort goes into all the details and the amenities, quality and design did not disappoint. We binge-watched a lot of movies so the couch wasn't super comfortable for that, the heater outside was an awesome amenity but we couldn't get it to work and the tub faucet seemed like it was struggling (the stream was not smooth and took a long time to fill) but those were the only, very minor comfort things that stood out and it didn't affect our stay negatively. There were way more positive things and amenities that outweighed all of those.

My husband, son and I needed a place to stay in Ramona while attending a wedding nearby. This was by far the best place I found and I was so hapy it was available. It's a huge ranch with lots of farm animals. We loved it. The house was clean and well appointed; beds were comfortable, and the porch for morning coffee was the best. This is only a 22-minute drive to Julian, and 5-6 miles from the town of Ramona. A++ -- 10 out of 10.

I loved my stay at this beautiful home in the mountains! Two things to know there’s a warmer that turns on and off in the bathroom on its own- don’t get spooked. Also, there is no microwave. However, the place is really nice, tidy, clean and makes you feel right at home. And best of all the views from both the patios are absolutely breathtaking!

This is a place you can’t skip out on. We were speechless from the very beginning of the view and how great the trip was going to be. There are plenty of things to do if you bring pets. We recommend the fire road near Doane pond which is a quick 5-10 min drive from the cabin. Some areas are restricted from bringing pets as to not disturb wildlife. The place overall was perfect and we felt right at home. It was so quiet and peaceful I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back.
