Holiday rentals with breakfast in Polonnaruwa

We had stayed there 6 years earlier. And we absolutely wanted to go back for this trip. An exceptional family that will welcome you like theirs and will give you good advice. Very comfortable room, surrounded by a beautiful garden where animals regularly like to show up (monkeys, birds, elephants sometimes). Beautiful things to see next door (lake, small river or cool off). The family offers some really nice traditional cooking classes to do, all organic, with products from their garden. The meals, if you wish, are very good and generous! Many thanks to them!

The communication was top notch. Pretty amiable host. Very helpful to us. Recommended all the good things for us. And, The location is far from sigiriya lion rock. So it was a bit exhausting. Overall a Good Experience.

Sanjini and her family made us very welcome in their place. You have the whole upstairs space so it is spacious and private but also with the home style hospitality as well. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms lovely and clean. I would highly recommend staying here. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Inoka & her family were very friendly, warm & hospitable, and helped me with all aspects of my stay, including picking me up from the local train station when I arrived late in the evening.

Gayan's parents were lovely, they were kind, generous and very accommodating. It was the perfect spot for us. They had parking, was clean, had a net, was central to all tourist locations, gave us local tips, provided a delicious breakfast and were in general very lovely. Cannot recommend this more.

Great place to stay. AMITH your host is super lovely. Very helpful with everything. Huge delicious breakfast He also grabbed us some ice from the shops as we couldn’t find any en route. Super clean room and bathroom. Probably the cleanest we have seen in Sri Lanka. Sunrise cottage is nestled away from the Main Street with all the restaurants which are easy walking distance. AMITH organised a tuk tuk to Lions rock leaving at 5am. Definitely worth going this early to beat the crowds and heat. Also to see the sunrise from the top. Definitely recommend

Our stay at Thilinas Homestay was perfect. We felt like a part of the family from the first pickup until the checkout. We didn’t have to worry about anything. Thilina provided a lot of information, planned our whole stay with all activities and organised every transportation for us. We would recommend this Homestay for everyone who wants to get to know the life in Sri Lanka a little better. Thank you for everything.

We booked Mango Villa because it was a recommendation from a couple we met and we’ve been really happy about it! We arrived later than we thought and Santha was worried and wrote us. So lovely! Than, when we finally arrived in the evening we’ve been so tired and hungry but to lazy to go somewhere to eat. So Santha and his wife cooked for us such a delicious curry, it was amazing. We’ve been so happy about that. Santha and his whole family is so warmly and welcoming, we felt so comfortable in the Guesthouse. The room and the bathroom was clean and cozy. What was really good, that there is an mosquito net behind the bathroom window - nothing could come in. On top you can have a hot shower after a rainy day - that was so good. These both things aren’t usual, we hadn’t it before. Also you’ve the great view of the terrace to the Lionrock. The garden is just beautiful! The breakfast was also really good, with coffee or tea, juice and different food. Also we rent a scoter for one day and cruised from one to the other sight seeing place - it was perfect that Santha has it to rent. He gave us a lot of good tips around. The Treehouse was a lovely break from city life however still local enough that in 10 minutes you had shops and restaurants. The treehouse itself was absolutely lovely & we really enjoyed it. Prepare yourself to embrace every part of nature, I know it can’t be avoided due to location and venue however be ready for ants !!!!& don’t forget your bug spray
